Review summary

This was a great cruise! The Island Princess is a very well thought out ship, and perfect size for a cruise to Alaska. The amazing staff onboard were always very pleasant and attentive and the itinerary was amazing. Great ports, perfect weather, could not of been happier with our Cruise to Alaska with Princess.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

By far my favorite port to disembark out of. Organized, clean, and the staff is very efficient and friendly.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
Hoonah is an adorable little city with some of the friendliest people I've ever met! Highly recommend doing the zip line and then walking around some of the trails near the ship to see the beautiful Alaskan wilderness. A couple great shops and restaurants are also close by for those who are looking to get souvenirs and get some local grub.

Juneau, Alaska

Such a beautiful city! We did the Mendenhall Glacier tour and Mt. Roberts tram, would recommend both! The weather was so beautiful in Juneau that day we decided after taking the tram up to Mt. Roberts we would hike down and take in the mountain air. We are both avid outdoorsman so we had no problem with the terrain, be warned it can be steep and sometimes slick if wet from the rains. Great restaurants and shops to get those souveniors before you rebound the ship. The docking location of the ship is extremely close to town so everything is easily accessible.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
If your stopping in Skagway you have to do the White Rail Pass Railroad! Our excursion was the eight hour ride that included a bus tour up to the Yukon and Carcross. It included lunch and our guide was great at making sure we got to see all the best spots as we made our way along the highway.

Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska

5 out of 5
Easiest disembarkation ever! If you flying out of Anchorage we highly recommend booking your travel to the airport on Alaska Cruise Transportation. They were amazing! We booked the package that included a couple of scenic stops on the way to Anchorage including at the Wildlife Park where we could get out and see some of the native animals to Alaska. The drive and tour guide were both amazing and made the somewhat long journey go by incredibly fast.
