Review summary

Non-balcony rooms (with window) are comfortable, adequate for a couple.

The entertainment is very good, there is always something there to prevent boredom whilst at sea.

Food is likewise very good. In the Bordeaux and Province restaurants the quality is highly recommended, in the buffet there is a constant supply with good choice.

Little things that weren't positive:

The constant source of things the cruiseline want to sell. Merchandise, tours, photos etc.etc. I guess they make their profit here.

The tours are expensive, better to find a similar tour ashore for ha;f the price.

The last day, the experience is "how quick can you get off we have new guests to cater for now". The vacation experience should last until you leave the ship.

But overall I would sail with Princess again

Ship tip

Take a electrical extender, there are only 2 sockets and with all the items we have to charge (camera's cellphones, tablets etc) it's unsufficient.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Oranjestad, Aruba

Not a lot to do here. Take a taxi to the beach and don;t waste money on tours.

Cartagena, Colombia Did not visit port

Getting from the port to the city is not so easy (or cheap), there are small buses that will take you for a reduced fee. Here's one occasion the cruise excursion could be worthwhile.

Panama Canal Transit

Get up on deck early ! There will be many looking for the prime positions.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

If you're going on a tour that involves the coffee plantation check ahead of time if it is open ! They had a hurricane that closed the one we intended to visit and we were only told during the tour.

San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua

Go to the volcano (active) and Lake Nicaragua, this trip was one of the highlights of the cruise. Granada is also a great town to walk around

Huatulco, Mexico

The taxi to the local town is only $1.50 , it's worth going there for the true Mexican town experience.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Nice just to walk around the town. The water taxi ( for $15 per person) is a nice - but short - visit.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

There will be 1500 people to go through immigration. Wear comfortable shoes as you'll be in line for a while. The local rental car companies are not well prepared for the flock of people, maybe better to get a cab further from the port if you want to rent a car.
