15 Night Panama canal from Ft. Lauderdale to Los Angeles

Sail Date: February 03, 2016

Reviewed: 9 months ago

Traveled As: Singles/Friends

Room Type: Balcony

It was a great experience, especially going through the canal zone and the excursion into the canal zone.   The ports were also great, protected well and tours were interesting.   I only regret we did not go to Costa Rica because of the weather.   I am glad we didn't risk the wind to go there, but was really looking forward to it.

Cabin / Stateroom
It was very nice.
Children's Programs no children on board
Entertainment
The dancers on the crew were exceptional and their performances were outstanding.
Service and Staff
Fantastic service: Frederick Valencia in Provence dining was outstanding.
Food and Dining Better food than any of other cruises I had been on.
Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida
Oranjestad, Aruba
Cartagena, Colombia
Panama Canal Transit
Get up early to see entrance and the new canal. The decks filled quickly with people and it was hard to get good pictures.
Fuerte Amador, Panama
Puntarenas, Costa Rica
Didn't get to go.
Puerto Chiapas (Tapachula), Mexico
San Pedro (Los Angeles), California
This is a busy port and the traffic leaving is bumper to bumper. Get to the airport early as it is also a big mess.

Tip

I would still choose late sitting for dinner because the crowd for the entertainment at 8 was lined up to go in. The food and service was wonderful.
