Review summary

This was our first time aboard a Princess cruiseline ship.  We have traveled extensively with other cruiselines, with one in particular.  We were very impressed with Princess from the time we got on board to the day the cruise ended and we disembarked.  Everything was run very orderly and in record time.  The ship itself was lovely and beautifully decorated for Christmas. There were plenty of activities if you cared to take advantage of them.  We enjoy dancing and the two Lounges that we frequented were perfect for us.  The shows/entertainment were first class, fresh and updated.  The waitstaff in the dining rooms were very attentive to your needs and very personable and professional.  They didn't entertain you as on other cruiselines.  All and all, we will definitely cruise with Princess again in the future.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was good, not great. I found the menu very basic. Presentation was very nice.

Onboard Activities

Plenty to do if you wanted to take advantage of everything that they had planned for you. This was a relaxing trip for us and didn't partake in everything they had to offer. It's like been there and done that over the years of cruising.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows/entertainers were fantastic, new and fresh shows. The comedian was ok not that funny.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the crew members we came in contact with for one reason or another were very nice, pleasant and courteous and extremely helpful.

Ship Quality

Beautiful ship, decorated very nicely. Will be getting a complete overhaul in April of this year.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was very good size with plenty of ample storage space to stash luggage and plenty of hangers for your clothes. The showers were very, very compact, not much elbow room at all.

Ship tip

We opted for Anytime Dining. When we got to our assigned dining room the first night, we were asked if we had a reservation, answered no and received a gizzmo that lights up when it's time to be seated. Did not realize you had to make reservations for a certain time. Will opt for late dining!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

We just had to drive across Alligator Alley from Naples to get to the ship. So easy.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Love this Island, great for shopping, snorkeling, sightseeing and of course MARGARITAVILLE.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

Hired our own Taxi, got a driver who spoke very good English and received a wonderful tour of the island.

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

Amazing to see what brilliant minds did 100 years ago. A trip that is really something to see.

Colon, Panama

Nothing to see here, just got picked up by the ship after out Panama City tour.

Cartagena, Colombia

Made the mistake of hiring our own taxi to take us around. The driver could hardly speak English let alone understand. Made sure that he stopped at his local shops. The people are very pushy. Will make sure not part of another cruise itinerary and if it is, will stay onboard.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Love Aruba, hired a taxi to take us to our favorite eating place to dine and have fun, Senior' Frogs. Unfortunately, it was the day after Christmas and a lot of the local venues were closed so no Senor' Frogs, instead we wound up eating in town at Iguana Joe's, which had good food/drink and a short walking distance to the ship.
