To not choose the Fjords. One of our ports was missed as there was a whiff of wind in Southampton and we left 6 hours late. Not the first time Iona has missed ports. You get nothing in recompense. Also one other port was changed for a different one. Iona is too big for Fjords. Wouldn’t recommend.

Take magnetic hooks for added hanging space, just make the most of it even if P and O change the itinerary, there are definitely worse places to get stuck on

It's a beautiful ship with plenty of space and loads of choices of restaurants to choose from and entertainment activities in abundance.

I took a shower curtain to separate the room so kids had privacy and so did we. Could do with a tiny bit more for children to do but overall a cracking experience

Keep an open mind. If you've never crossed before you will love her. If you have, especially with P&O she will be different. Expect that. She is a lovely ship

Take a pullover. For some reason all over the ship has air conditioning on high and it’s always cold, even in the restaurants and the cutlery was ice cold. Definitely a spoiler.

Book The Olive Grove early on. Most things are included in your cruise fare and the stuff that isn't is clearly marked. As more people realise this it'll get busier and busier

DONT BRING TO MUCH CLOTHES! You may think you need to but don't! You will spend your whole day in the laundrette you don't wanna do that or bring a whole luggage of dirty clothes do you?
