A relaxing cruise full of Winter sunshine and good food.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick despite the gale force winds and torrential rain.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
MDR menus changed daily plus food available in the buffet and lido grill. All were excellent in quality and quantity. Service was brilliant too. The Glass House, 2 super meals ate in here.Staff friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes offered. The Beach House was OK. Food portion was small in quantity and only warm when served. Staff were slow and not very enthusiastic in their roles.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Plenty to suit all ages and interests.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Live music especially the busker was very good. Plenty of shows etc paeticularly for families.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff throughout the ship were very friendly and helpful. They all appeared to enjoy their jobs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was immaculate and well maintained throughout. Easy to navigate with all the digital information boards.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin a very good size with an enormous balcony and 2 sets of patio doors. Balcony cabin but a suite layout.

Ship tip

Book restaurants and evening theatre entertainment as soon as you board the ship to guarantee a table and/or seat.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

5 out of 5
Used for em/disembarkation purposes only. Quick check and security.

Gibraltar (U.K.)

4 out of 5
Took a panoramic tour around the island with afternoon tea at a nice hotel. Gentle pace. Items at Duty Free in the terminal were noticeably cheaper than in the town itself.

Lisbon, Portugal

5 out of 5
Walked around the city and took in the sights. Christmas market in the main square which consisted mostly of eateries.

Valencia, Spain

5 out of 5
Change of port to Cartagena. Super destination, a mixture of classical history (Roman theatre & baths, cathedral, fort, punic walls etc) and excellent eating and shopping oppportunities. Tasteful Christmas lights everywhere. A gentle 10 minute walk from the cruise terminal.

Alicante, Spain

1 out of 5
Had a walk around for an hour. Full of people selling drugs everywhere and lots of boarded up buildings.

Vigo, Spain

5 out of 5
Retail therapy here rather than an excursion. Lots of stores to suit all tastes and budgets. Christmas market and funfair operating. Festive street lighting was impressive.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Walked off the ship straightaway. Embarked a day early as the ship returned sooner to beat a severe storm.
