It is a big ship with lots of people. Prepare to be in lines for meals. Also..you get a feeling of being rushed..because other people need your spot..even in the main dining room. Definitely make reservations for shows as soon as you can. They go quickly.
I encourage cruisers to do their research and learn as much as they can about the ship prior to sailing. Read reviews but don't miss an experience because someone else may have a strong opinion about something. I also encourage cruisers to have an open mind. Go into the cruise ready to have fun and relax. Be kind!
Try to reserve your spots for the stage shows, ice skating show and aqua theater. Also an earlier dinner reservation will help so you are done eating in time for the shows. If you don’t have reservations, you can still get into dinner and also the shows but sometimes the wait in the standby lines is a bit long.
Use the phone app so you don't miss any activities. If you can't get a show reservation, show up 30 minutes early and you will most likely get in with the others without a reservation
Make sure to check the cruise activities as far in advance as possible and make reservations for shows you might want to watch. Otherwise, you will be disappointed as we were when we couldn't watch Grease. Also, if you select a specialty dining package, make your restaurant reservations well in advance of the cruise date. Also, if you are prone to seasickness, make sure to have a supply of medication on hand. Even on this big boat, the waves can be strong enough in bad weather to cause motion sickness.
Take time to get to know people on the ship, a lot of the employees are really good people and they make you stay that much better if you take the time to get to know them and establish relationships. I can't wait to be back on this ship and I hope everyone is still there.
The Boardwalk balcony is not as bad as everyone claims. The only time it had noise was during the Aqua shows and that was 5 hours total across all 7 days, not enough to fuss about, it was awesome getting to watch the show from our balcony though.
Spring break summer and holidays had alot of kids. Great for family but if that's not what u want don't book alot of people complaining about kids. It's a family ship so kids will be running around.
Use the App. Every time you open the app while onboard, do not forget to refresh the daily activities in order to stay up to date with everything going on. Also, if you use a VPN service on your phone, be sure to turn that off when using the Royal Caribbean app onboard. I found the VPN would confuse the app and not allow it to work properly.
