Review summary

We had a wonderful, relaxing cruise and thoroughly enjoyed the ports. We enjoyed relaxing at the front of the ship in the Solarium, which was for 18 yrs and over, so it was peaceful and quiet. We wish there had been more lounging areas that weren’t in a bar or club atmosphere, but other than that we loved the cruise!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was the smoothest and quickest embarkation experience we’ve ever had. We did the checkin on the app ahead of time, filled out the wellness check the day before our cruise and practically walked straight onto the ship on the day of embarkation. Luggage drop off was super quick, security was streamlined and there were very short lines to proceed to the ship after that.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We never ate at any of the specialty restaurants but the main dining room and buffets were wonderful! Excellent food and excellent service! The food was fresh and well stocked on the buffets and the staff was attentive and friendly.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were lots of fun activities to choose from, including pools and hot tubs, flow rider, zipline, The Abyss slide, climbing walls, ice skating rink, sports deck with mini golf, and even a carousel. We didn’t actually participate in many of the activities, but we saw lots of other passengers enjoying the activities.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stages on the ship were so amazing! We enjoyed watching Grease and Columbus and thought that the sets were really great. The stage floor could spin and lower and the balcony could also be raised or lowered. The performers were very talented and fun to watch. The Fine Line show at the aqua theater and the Ice shows on the skating rink were equally amazing and had awesome performers as well.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the staff were so friendly and eager to help. The waiters were excellent and professional, but also friendly and respectful. Our room steward took good care of our room and was considerate of our time. We were very impressed with the service on the ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was beautiful and had lots of fun areas to explore. We loved the unique artwork all over the ship, the layout was well done and easy to navigate, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. We especially loved Central Park and all the trees and plants.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was very comfortable, good size and kept clean throughout our cruise. We loved the virtual balcony, which made the room feel bigger and gave us a view of outside. The bathroom was also a comfortable size.

Ship tip

Try to reserve your spots for the stage shows, ice skating show and aqua theater. Also an earlier dinner reservation will help so you are done eating in time for the shows. If you don’t have reservations, you can still get into dinner and also the shows but sometimes the wait in the standby lines is a bit long.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
They have improved this port a great deal since we last used it for a cruise 10 years ago. We didn’t do an excursion. But the terminal was easy to navigate and well organized.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
We went to the animal sanctuary park (holding the sloth was a highlight of our vacation) and then to the beach. There were tons of vendors bugging us the whole time at the beach, so that was super annoying, but the beach was beautiful and had soft sand.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
We went to the Chocchoban Mayan ruins and loved it! We enjoyed seeing the ruins and learning about their history. The Aviary at the port was so cool, suspended above the shops and pool area and accessible by a series of rope bridges. This was our favorite port area of the 3 ports we stopped at.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
The port itself was very busy and lots of shop owners trying to get you to buy their stuff. But it was also nice that it was easily accessible. Our excursion to Chankanab park was lots of fun and had a variety of activities to choose from.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Just like embarkation, disembarkation was equally smooth and quick. We didn’t wait more than a couple minutes to get through the crowds and out of the terminal. The process was very well managed and directed.
