Harmony of the Seas

7 Night Western Caribbean (Galveston Roundtrip)

Sail date: January 14, 2024

Ship: Harmony of the Seas

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

Although we got unlucky with the lack of sun, the trip was great. Our genie and rest of the staff helped make it so. Winning in the casino didn't hurt things either. 😀

Embarkation

As always, getting on the ship with Star Class is seamless. There are no lines to wait in and you are personally escorted on board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The specialty restaurants and Coastal Kitchen were top notch and the service was very personable.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
As an Oasis Class ship, there is always something for everyone to do.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Grease, Columbus and the ice shows were great. The aqua show was too but if I'm being nit picky, it's my least favorite compared to Oasis and Allure. It's a bit disjointed and doesn't quite flow as well as the others.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I have nothing but great things to say about the staff. They are so friendly and accommodating. A few even remembered us from other ships they worked on when we were there. I found that really impressive. They all are the definition of customer service.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Staff was always cleaning. Harmony is an 8 year old ship but still looks brand new.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were in a Star Loft Suite and our cabin stewards Benji and Chris took care of us and the suite like you would in a 5 star hotel. The room itself was awsome. The only negatives were lack of storage space upstairs in the bedroom and the strange shower/tub design in the upstairs bathroom. It was difficult not to have the floor all wet while taking a shower.

Ship tip

Pace yourself. It's a giant ship with lots to do. Don't try to squeeze everything in all in the 1st few days. If you have never been on an Oasis class ship, watch you tube ship tour videos on it before you go so you can learn the ship as best you can before boarding. I recommend Harr Travel's videos. Danny is awsome.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
The new terminal is amazing and easy to navigate.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

3 out of 5
It's a pretty typical cruise port. It's nothing special. It has some decent shopping.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
See Costa Maya.

Disembarkation

Even easier than getting on board. Our genie Raj (who was great the entire trip) escorted us from deck 17 all the way until we were practically off the ship and we didn't have to wait in any line at all.
