A Break From Winter by PauletteM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We loved the easy access on and departure arrangements and how such a large number of people were handled in an efficient manner. The staff was extremely courteous and polite. We immediately were able to relax and enjoy the ship. The Grandeur of the Seas offers such a variety of places to be alone soaking up sun, a comfortable place to curl up and read , or ways to enjoy activities with other guest. We very much enjoyed our group at dinner. It is a nice way to intimately get to know other travelers. The 4 day cruise was a nice break from the cold , snowy winter we had been experiencing.

great 5 day cruise by DonS1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Nice clean ship, excellent waiters/bar staff.. wonderful food.. on-board activities/shows could have been a little more exciting and a little earlier in the evening ( a lot of the better activities were 10 p.m. or later).. Overall, an excellent short (5-day) cruise.

Our 6th cruise in the Caribbean! by AT72

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was a clean ship but not outstanding in any way and it was rated too high. My first time w/RC and was dissappointed with ship and with some of the food and activities. The photographers were great, I wish there were more options for sugar free for diabetics and wish there was sugar free frozen yogurt. I liked that there was several options for free drinks at the drink section. Many salads and veggies......Yumm! Half of the formal eating meals were great. The bed was hard as a rock. The tour was too much driving for the short time at the ruins. I wouldn't recommend it. One of the people at our table said the same thing about the tour they went on. Too much driving and only 20 minutes doing the snooba. Kind of a rip off. It was very relaxing trip otherwise.

A real dump by BlakeH

Sail date: / Traveled as:

I have been on 7 cruises and this one was the worst. Everything was terrible from the food to the onboard activities. Take Carnival it is a much better choice.

Great Cruise for the price! by RyanM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

You have to remember that the ship is about 12 years old so you don't have all the fancey things that the new ships have. But the crew was great! Bar serive and food service was ok. Only the stateroom attendant was lacking. We went to two ports. Cozumel was awesome but we also went to Costa Maya and we won't go back there. That place had nothing really to do.

Warm and relaxing! by BetsC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship specs are around 2,300 passengers. Wide variety of activities, from Bingo to dancing, casino, shopping and a variety of shore excursions. Cabins were comfortable and cozy although ship is an older model. Service was impeccable with an attention to customer satisfaction.

Grandeur Is Still Grand by JimA5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our Feb. 7 - 12 cruise on Grandeur was outstanding. We had sailed on her third voyage back in Dec. 1996 and she was just as beautiful as then. We like the smaller size as compared to some of the super ships of today. It was a pleasure to meet "Captain Rob" Hempstead and we were fortunate enough to be selected to dine with him for the Captain's Gala Dinner. He was very interesting to talk to and is the only American Captain in the fleet. All the crew and staff we encountered were very friendly and yet professional and attended to our needs. The dining room food was very good and Neihl and Kenger were exceptional as our wait staff. Although rough seas prevented our stop in Costa Maya, we enjoyed our two nights in Cozumel as a bonus. Paradise Beach was fun and they did not charge you for use of loungers or umbrellas. The only negative I have with the ship is that the bar staff is a bit aggressive on pushing drinks and can be anoying if you are just trying to relax on deck or in a lounge. Suggest ignoring them as they come by unless you are ready for a cocktail. Saining out of Tampa was also a pleasure and passing under the bridge was a thrill. We can't wait for our next cruise on RCL.

Fabulous Fabulous Wonderful Cruise by EileenT1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship was among the best we have been on.. The cleanliness and the very excellent cabin care was so wonderful. The entertainment was wildley entertaining especially the Quest Game. The personal was so friendly and helpful it made our cruise that much more enjoyable. The meals and wait staff were superb and took care of our every wish. It all made for a great cruise and the looking forward to another cruise. We may sample another of the ships in ths Royal Caribean fleet.

Money Hungry by DanB16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My first experience with Royal Carribiean was not a good one. The company seems to be very money hungry and not very passenger oriented. It was hard to cancel events that we had scheduled (i.e. spa treatments) because they were afraid of losing the money. Using ship coupons were also hard to redeem. If you don't read the fine print about how to redeem the coupon, you may be out of luck trying to use it.

Excellent by Lily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Entertainment, activities, games hosted by the best host, Dan the Party Man was delightful. The Asian market in the windjammer room where my favorite sushi was available every evening was home away from home. The Adult pool area with it's hot tubs offered peace and relaxation, away from the children and noise from the outside open swimming pool area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

Good Cruise by LarryL5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

This was a good cruise, although, the food choices have been narrowed; I suspect as a cost cutting measure. Overall, it was worth the price.
