Great ship!!! by suesnake

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Had booked prickly pear island excursion. They just never showed up. Considering we were the only 2 people waiting at meeting point, we know why they jyst never showed up. Then booked mad max buggy tour. 2 weeks before this site contacted me and said vendor overbooked and i was cancelled. I thought this fishy since i booked over a year out. So i contacted vendor direct to give them a piece of my mind. Well they never do tour on weekend (thats when i was gonna be there) and they stopped 3rd party bookings a long time ago due to constant problems. So basically this site lied and held my money for a long time. First time using them, booked 2 trips and neither happened. Buyer beware

Great short trip by smbren

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We've sailed on Grandeur about 5 times now. It has that 'welcome home' feeling on the ship because it is not a mega ship and many of the crew have been onboard for years so you are recognized when you return. It really is like seeing family that you have not seen in a year or so.

Nice relaxing cruise. Plenty of... by vacaytime1

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Nice relaxing cruise. Plenty of activities despite not having the bells and whistles of some of the larger ships. Lots of trivia, game shows, pool deck games, etc. Main dining room and Park Cafe food was great. Windjammer buffet was not the quality I would hope for. Great view in Viking Crown Lounge and South Pacific Lounge. Drinks were fantastic and there were many drink specials on our 6 day cruise. In addition to $8 drink of the days, there were specials for buy one get one half off cocktails, $8 well drinks, $2 mimosas and an $85 10 drink card available for the last two days.

Not the best cruise ship... by jag197575

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Not the best cruise ship I have ever cruised on. The food and Main Dining Room Staff were excellent. That is the only positive I can say about this ship/cruise. Pretty sad that I have cruised 9 times and Royal Caribbean was my worst experience thus far.

Lady G Does NOT Disappoint by LytehouseLovers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

As an adult daughter/mother (both taken) cruise, this was fantastic. There are not a lot of singles on this cruise so we didn't feel like we were on some sort of party ship. We wanted to relax and enjoy each other's company before daughter gets married. There is plenty to do on this ship if you are looking for activities. The staff is the BEST in the seven seas. We love the Lady G, and will be sailing on her again in the next 11 months.

Grandeur of the Seas--Now I See why it is a favorite by GiovanniJohnny

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The 12 day cruise adds just enough extra days to fully enjoy the ship as well as the islands. We liked the size of the ship over Royal Caribbean's largest ships as it provide a more relaxed, less hectic atmosphere. We would definitely sail the Grandeur again.

This was my third or... by katj

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

This was my third or fourth time on Grandeur. I love the convenience of cruising out of Baltimore. It is a great embarkation port. The ship is the perfect size if you're a fan of traditional cruising. The food was good. The service was fine, but not as good as past cruises. I might be wrong, but I got the feel that a few, not all, crew members tended to ignore some guest in an attempt to cater to those they perceived to be "good tippers". I was fine with this approach, it became a self fulfilling prophecy for quite a few of them and saved me a ton of money. I went to customer service and had the auto gratuities removed and tipped at my discretion. Servers in the MDR weren't as personable this time around so I did not tip them. The service wasn't horrible, but it was sub par compared to past waiters so whatever RCL paid them is what they got from me. For the guests they showered attention on; hopefully for them, those guests tipped them well. I'm pretty low maintenance so I think I like this new approach, it will certainly save me money. Naturally, on my next cruise if the staff delivers the wow I'm accustomed to, I'll be back to over tipping. I enjoyed my cruise immensely so there will be a next time. The entertainment was great, the crew performance was probably some of the best. There was always something going on. They made good use of the Centrum with the evening performances since they are no longer using the space for aerial shows.

Over all for our first cruise I would say it was great. Not as extravagant as other cruises I’ve heard about but a nice balance of fun and relaxation.

Grandeur of the Seas was... by bench123

Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Grandeur of the Seas was a great ship and with its many activities kept 2 families of 3 busy! Our families included 2 children 9 and 11 and from Kids Club, shows, pools, and many activities it didn't matter that this ship doesn't have waterslides. When in colder areas they even open up the enclosed Solarium pool during certain times for children to utilize.

Wonderful Cruise Great Staff. Sad... by KeithHunn

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Wonderful Cruise Great Staff. Sad to see Mike and Nick doing the fair well sailing on the Lady G! Wish them both much success they were great Cruise Directors and we hope to see them both on there next ships! Nicholas and Ronald our Dining room waiter and assist waiter were the best. Just the nicest people, if everyone were like those two the world would be perfect. Royal Caribbean is lucky to have such hard working professional staff. They all were the tops. We were Room 3032 on Feb 14th sailing 2019 also we did not get his name but the gentleman who came and saved the night after our son had motion sickness is the real unsung hero. We were at a loss and he made everything better for all of us! Hard job and I will tell you that man deserves a raise and recognition. He was on the night crew and said there was only four of his position on the boat. Two work days and two work nights. Our savior that night. She is a little bit older ship but the crew and the activities they jam packed on the cruise were just awesome. Joseph are room attendant was the nicest sweetest guy. Did everything he could to make sure we were comfortable and our room was always clean and ready for us every time we came back to it. I don’t think any of them slept it felt like. They were always there for us. Wish them all well and thank you for the memories.

Love cruising on the Grandeur,... by agfstamps

Sail date: /
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Love cruising on the Grandeur, it’s an easy 6 hour drive from Cleveland. We weren’t planning on getting off the ship in Nassau but so glad we did! Booked a private Jeep tour with The Clam Tram, secluded beaches and lunch from the Bearded Clam with beers included. It was awesome and we have a new appreciation for the Bahamas. Get out of the harbor area and you’ll see what people fall in love with in these islands. Booked the VIP sailing through the cruise, this was very nice and ended with a short trip to the Bahamas Adventures private beach in Freeport. Looked like a very nice excursion choice as well. My only concern on the ship is that there is a supply chain/logistics issue with the bar service. The staff is great but they seem to run out of various selections. If they run over to another bar and take that supply you end up getting the run around and having to pick alternate drinks at that place. Not good when you purchased the beverage package. All in all a very nice trip!
