Grandeur of the Seas

12 Night Southern Caribbean (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Cabin type: Suite

Cabin number: 8536

Review summary

The 12 day cruise adds just enough extra days to fully enjoy the ship as well as the islands. We liked the size of the ship over Royal Caribbean's largest ships as it provide a more relaxed, less hectic atmosphere. We would definitely sail the Grandeur again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining rooms were good but crowded and noisy. Service was good. Food was ok. Specialty restaurants are a better option. Chops delivered for us. Sushi was very good. The menu at Giovanni's has been cut back.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness centers are adequate but small so a few people can fill it up.

Entertainment

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was very good. Special kudos to Sidney in Izumi, Reggie our room steward, and Agung (Uncle Bob) in Chops.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I really like the ships design and size. The smaller ship is more intimate and offers the option of meeting a wide variety of people. The Centrum is a focal point for entertainment and does not disappoint. It is beautifully designed. Liked the openness and window views from the Safari Lounge and Diamond Club area.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The Sky Suite offered a good sized space, plenty of storage, sofas and chairs, and of course the balcony with chairs and table. The room was very comfortable, and kept well cleaned by Reggie.

Ship tip

This is a smaller ship and offers an intimacy that the larger ships such as Oasis cant touch. The vibe is more laid back and less hectic. Be aware, the folks on this ship tend to be older.

Not a lot here, small town area. Some excursions required traveling for an hour.

Nice, beautiful island. We did the Buggy Adventure and got to see a lot of the island.

Castries, St. Lucia

This island is spectacularly beautiful. We took a boat to the Pitons, and that is worth the trip for the views. Also get a beach stop.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Again, another beautiful island. We did a beach adventure. Worth the cost.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Really liked the shops and the accessibility of the beaches. The restaurants near the port were very good. See Calvin at Big Woods Bar and Grill.
