Review summary

Over all for our first cruise I would say it was great. Not as extravagant as other cruises I’ve heard about but a nice balance of fun and relaxation.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dinning room service wasn’t great, it took a long time to get our meal and when we did it was luke warm. We ate mostly at the Windjammer Cafe, which was fantastic every night or at a specialty dinning restaurant.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools, hot tube, most of the ship activities like their contest games, bingo, played in the casino a little bit. All activities were fun

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows were great and the performers were extremely talented.

Children's Programs

No children with us

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service and staff were great. Only gave a 4 star rating though because there were a few crew members who were kind of rude or very in-helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean each day and you could see the crew members cleaning and keeping up with the activities onboard. The design of the ship is a little dated but that is to be expected on an older ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The size and cleanliness of the cabin was great. We didn’t spend much time in there but for what we needed it worked perfect. Only complaint would be the bed, it was 2 twin beds just pushed together and they kept coming apart when we slept.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5

Charleston, South Carolina

4 out of 5
We stayed on the ship at this port but from what we heard from other passengers it was great.

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Great port location. We visited the Kennedy Space Center and loved the tour.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
It was nice to be in the Bahamas but the port was very aged, the area was very industrial and run down. We did do a sail and snorkeling excursion here which was very nice and saved this stop from being horrible.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Loved Nassau, great port close to ahoooing area. It was a bit of a walk to the beach areas so a taxi or bus would be a good idea but overall a great stop.

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
We did not get off the ship but from what we could see there was a lot to do near by and it was a beautiful area.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth and easy.

Overall, it sounds like you had a very nice cruise. Your main complaint seems to be with dinner in the Main Dining Room. Personally, I love to eat there and be served. I don't mind spending the time there and socializing with my fellow passengers. Although the food may not be as hot as one may like at times, I feel that the pros outweigh the cons. Love the Grandeur.
