We have sailed the Grandeur several times. We go back and forth between Grandeur and Carnival Pride because the Port is so convenient. Weather issue aside, this was a lack luster cruise with okay food and pitiful entertainment They prioritized the one port to be Coco Cay when they had to cancel two ports. It’s all about cross sales and money money money. They can’t make anything off of Nassau or Florida but they sure can take in the bucks on $80 zip lines and water park tubes that they own. They promoted that “perfect day” the entire trip. The guests had started to make fun of the slogan as we had all heard enough Perfect Day at Coco Cay to be sick.
Embarkation

Extremely fast! Port of Baltimore is with the program!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was okay but not great. RCCL is cutting corners where they can. Crab cakes were made with imitation crab meat, overall food quality is not what it used to be. If you want a great meal, you need the specialty restaurants for an extra price.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Love the Quest, love and marriage, etc though this particular cruise crowd seemed Less then enthusiastic. Some cruises are a wilder than others.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The production show with the RCL dancers and singers was horrible. Costumes were awful, choreography was redundant and all the girls had to wear these tacky dime store wigs that had nothing to do with the part they were playing and everything to do with cheap cheap cheap. Other shows were ok but budget is clearly the top priority on the Grandeur compared to past cruises.
Children's Programs
No kids and tried to avoid them
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was excellent and this cruise was a challenge with 6 sea days because of cancelled ports due to weather
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
It’s an old ship but I like the smaller size. There must be something wrong with the ventilation in the casino because the smoke smell was all over the Centrum on floors 4,5 and 6. I had a sore throat from the smoke for several days. I just couldn’t get away from it. We have never had that issue on the Grandeur in the past
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin is a little snug but great storage and perfectly centered and low enough to avoid seasickness in rough seas which we had on this cruise.
Ship tip
The ship has been sold and I think that may be the reason for some corners being cut. I won’t sale on her again. Too many other better options out there.
15mustang. The cruise director as well as several of his team announced over the course of the cruise that the Grandeur is sold to Pullmantur Cruises. It’s was official on October 16, 2019
