Grandeur of the Seas remains as our favorite ship with no complaints, just praise.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation always seem to go smoothly for Grandeur. Be mindful of the $15/day charge for parking. If you can figure out an alternative you can save your money for better things, like spending it on the hardest hit islands.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We're big fans of the Windjammer. The variety and quality were excellent for every meal. We purchased a 3 night meal ticket for the premium restaurants. We loved both Chops and Izumi. Chops would rate well against Ruths Chris.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We particularly enjoyed ballroom dance lessons during our at sea days, followed by progressive trivia.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Absolutely terrific shows. The bands, orchestra and the ship's song and dance troupe were superb. So much talent and hard work were put into each show. Other entertainers were great too. Grandeur does a wonderful job of providing excellent entertainment in multiple venues throughout the day.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Ship's personnel were consistently engaging, sincere, friendly and professional - without exception. A remarkable contrast to our one and only misadventure on Carnival Pride where no one made eye contact or showed any interest in passengers.
Ship Quality

Grandeur may be a bit older than some, but she is kept fresh and clean. This was our 4th cruise onboard and she was looking great.
Cabin / Stateroom

We love being at near eye level with the sea. Oceanview rooms are well laid out and comfortable for 2.
We are loyal cruisers out of Baltimore. Easy access to the port with an hour drive from home. We hope Royal Caribbean keeps sailing from Baltimore indefinitely. We'll always come back.
Much of the hurricane damage has been addressed. The beaches are clean and open, foliage is green again, many businesses have reopened. Please consider spending freely at the stalls and with drivers and guides. Everyone was hit and the cruise ships are the only source of cash coming in. All the large hotels are closed and not expected to reopen for 2-3 years.
Antigua has tons of beaches, but is one of the poorer countries in the area. We've been here several times and find it a challenge to do new things that we enjoy. Consider a day pass at one of the resorts. We did with Sandals and had a good time.
Phillipsburg is mostly open for business again. Last year when we visited in January there were 7 cruise ships in port. Grandeur was the smallest. This year we were the only ship, and Phillipsburg was relatively quiet. The French side had more damage and is rebuilding more slowly than on the Dutch side, but is still well worth visiting. Orient Beach has been cleared of debris, and was largely empty.
The only bad part of our disembarkation was having to leave the ship behind and return to reality. There were only 2 customs/immigration officers checking passports, making things go more slowly than they might.
