Review summary

this cruise was surely not what we expected. We are frequent cruisers, but this was a disappointment. The ship is in bad shape, but that is apparently caused by little energy from staff. Railings needed dusting, floors needed cleaning, tables needed wiping off. One day it rained and they had 30 gallon buckets catching the rain leaking from the ceiling...and it was full of water. When the floors were wet there was no effort to fun a mop over them. I feared for walking over the puddles on deck. The staff was just not concerned about their customers. At times during this cruise, I would have been hard pressed to even find a staff if an emergency happened. We did have attentive wait staff for our evening dining. The food was okay. Not enough activities to keep the guests busy. This ship had a huge screen on deck, but they ran pictures of Royal Caribbean signs and the ocean. What a waste of time. Our room was very small. I realize staterooms are usually small, but this was not comfortable. The beds were nearly on the floor and looked more like cots at summer camp than beds on a cruise ship. As I mentioned before, we cruise and travel several times a year, but I think we would rather stay at home than do Grandaur of the Sea again!

I just got off Grandeur yesterday and ship was clean didn't see all that water you were talking about in 30 gal. Buckets. Bed was comfortable and floors were clean. Been on her at least eight cruises. Never had any problems. Love this ship and it is older but going in for refurb next year.

Love this ship! A cruise is what you make it. If you want more activities, try one of the larger ships.

We've been on Grandeur twice--just got off of her Apr 17. She is our favorite ship because of the crew. They all were so attentive & friendly. She is due for a refit Apr 2017. We saw 2 movies in the theatre & one at the pool. Yes, the bed is low but why is that a problem? It was very comfortable. The staff was constantly cleaning & kept everything ship-shape. Every cruise is full for a reason.

We've been on the Grandeur several times and never had a problem. Sure she's small and has some age on her (she is scheduled to go in drydock for refurbishing) but the staff is great. They remembered my son and his wife when they recently sailed after a year and a half. Port of Baltimore is so easy. I do wish they could bring in another ship so you could do something different.

Was on same cruise not sure where you saw the 30 gallon buckets catching water. We never saw that. I agree about the big screen on deck 9 by the pool.

Sorry you had a bad experience. We have cruised on the Grandeur 5 times and love the ship, staff and one of the best cruise directors we have had. We always get a balcony or ocean view so our rooms were roomy.
