Review summary

I feel princess failed by not keeping the ship sanitized. Many sick people I am guessing all with Covid as we were very sick the last day and upon returning home the same day we left the ship we tested positive for Covid. There was no effort to clean common touch surfaces and hand washing was not enforced at the buffet. My dream vacation turned into a nightmare and now I am still very sick. I expected a safer environment on the ship.

When your review is that bad, I would say for what ever reason you personally didn’t like your experience, I would have to say your review is skewed and not at all accurate.

As many have posted....you can't blame Princess for the nasty behavior of fellow cruisers. I also question that no one was cleaning or sanitizing anything cause that is standard before and after covid. It is also correct that covid or whatever was brought on the ship after sailing. I doubt you're a doctor and you can't pinpoint where it all started. Also Princess has the thickest mattresses and you saying you saw the plywood base can't be correct, cause there is the mattress, a pad, a sheet and then the duvet, so how you say that, I have to say it's not accurate.

If you must blame someone, blame your fellow cruisers, not the ship. But you must take precautions.

Sorry you are ill but it could have happened on any cruise ship, plane, motel, store, etc.

ASYoung is right on. Every Princess Cruise I have been on, crew was always wiping and cleaning. Princess cannot control what illnesses passengers bring on board. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

After what we have all gone through the past years, we only have ourselves to to accountable to. We see it every day we are back to bad behavior that is worse and passing blame. We have to own our own precautions to try and stay well. That way, we can keep on CRUISEING and get joy from life and the best we make of it.

Did you wear a mask? Did you consistently wash your hands? Did you keep your hands away from your face?

We did a similar cruise on the same ship earlier this month. Honestly, the crew did a good job of asking people to wash up, but many people just ignored them and headed straight to the feeding trough. That being said, blame your fellow cruisers, not Princess. We had no complaints with sick people until we took the bus from Whittier to Anchorage; too many coughing sneezing people not wearing masks or covering their faces. Long story short, (already having four covid shots) we both contracted covid for a third time. I can point fingers, the biggest one at us for not being prepared, the second finger (maybe the third/middle finger) to those who were sick and also didn't take precautions. Totally not a Princess issue.

Someone could've gotten Covid on a plane, in an airport, or at one of the ports you stopped in. Don't assume it's the cruise line's fault you got sick.

Well. Covid is a respiratory virus. To prevent it…masks need to be worn.
