This was an Okay cruise. We have not taken a Princess cruise for quite a while and we were not impressed. We mainly went because of the itinerary and then Princess chopped that up as Bora Bora and Pago Pago got dropped which changed the cruise immensely.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Princess had us upload all info before the cruise for a quick check in but still needed to see the info Apon arrival
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Quality of food and selections were just Okay
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Not a great variety of activities for a 29 day cruise especially when we got down below Fiji where the weather was colder and the pool was not being used.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Stage shows were good but mainly the cast singing. Comedians were so so and the pianists were okay. We really enjoyed the Hawiian couple's talks and their singing and dancing.
Children's Programs
ON this cruise there were no children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
This is where Princess shines. The entire staff, from our room Stuart, our waiters, the bar servers, even the dining room hostess called us by our names from the second day on. They were very at tentative and made us feel very special.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship is very well laid out, easy to get around on, and very clean It is however, gotten old and is showing its wears. Throughout our cruise, many of the laundry machines were broke down which made it hard to get the job done and every day at least one or two elevators were down.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Very clean, comfortable and larger than other ships we have been on and the location was perfect. Very easy to get to anywhere on the ship.
Did the Easy Papeete excursion which was very nice but they did not offer a large selection of excursions and at the last month before the cruise they cancelled the Bora Bora and Pago Pago stops and replaced them with an extra day at Tahiti. When we got on the ship, all the excursions were sold out so we just walked around the shops at port.
Here we did the Maori Cultural Highlights tour and visited a village to witness their customs and cultures and then went on to a school where the students also demonstrated the customs and cultures. Excellent.
Cruising the Fjords was excellent, but the bummer was the weather as it rained and foggy and the sea was so rough, we couldn't go into one that was scheduled. Many wonderful waterfalls.
How did changing 2 ports change cruise immensely? Was there a reason ports were changed. My Baltics cruise was no longer a Baltics cruise, but I made the best of it, since it wasn't the cruise lines fault that putin invaded Ukraine. I'm guessing that cruise was pricey, so my advice is, enjoy your cruise and don't let a setback ruin the cruise.
