This app is saying my overall review is 4.5 stars. I disagree. I do not feel my cruise experience exceeded 4, maybe even less. I know the notes said 4.5 is not a simple average of the scores I gave. I assume Princess made up the 4.5 score to look good to public.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We call &awe called & Princess rep. said we do not need to Covid test for Princess. When we arrived for embarkation, we had to take a Covid test & was charged $60/person for it. There were 5 of us, so that was a $300 expense we were not counting on. It would have been a free test at Walgreens in our home town.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Service was great! Food was mediocre. I bought 2 drink packages. I am not a wine connoisseur, but the wine selections were so poor, I only ordered 1 glass that I did not finish. The mixed drinks were a little better. I think low quality ingredients were used.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
In fact, there was only one performance in the theatre. My grandchildren played Bingo, Deal or No Deal & ping pong. They also swam. Sometimes there were musical performances in the atrium. I was looking for Name That Tune in Caggnie’s Musical Bar, but never happened. The ship was less than 1/2 full. Maybe Princess could not afford good entertainment. Onboard activities were below my expectations.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Nonexistent, below my expectations. Only one night show in the theatre. My grandchildren like music & dance, so I was looking forward to the entertainment. Entertainment did not exist.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My grandchildren did spend about 4 hours in the Kid’s Club & enjoyed it very much.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The service staff were the shining stars of the ship & trip.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Common areas were clean & well-maintained. Some public toilets had trouble flushing, but there were others. No mechanical problems w/the ship that we were aware of.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We were pleased w/our cabin. Even the sleeper sofa was comfortable. Enough storage.
Ship tip
In my opinion, do not expect the Princess experiences you had in the past. Standards are lower.
This website is not owned by Princess Cruises and the 4.5 stars is figured by this website. Like was previously mentioned the stars are figured by everything you gave stars to. The ports of call are part of the cruise even though they are not on the ship.
Looks like an average of the scores to me. The ports of call scores are all high and are therefore offsetting the ship experience scores. Since the ports of call are not influenced by the cruise line (except the private resorts) its a bit of a con for them to be able to claim a 4.5 out of 5
