We booked this trip under the advisement of the RCI cruise specialist. He told us we would love the ship and land tour. He also told us we would have $500 onboard credit plus and additional $85 - what we received was $100 onboard credit and a poor cruise and even worse landtour.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
We had to wait over an hour in line while they "resolved issues"
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The buffets food and service were awful. The Club Class dining staff was amazing and the food was good too
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The fitness center was just okay.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The entertainers and shows left a lot to be desired. The entertainer in Crooners bar was by far the best the ship had to offer.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Room steward was okay. The staff in the Club class dining area were great.

Cabin / Stateroom

Within 15 minutes of being in the room the toilet blew its seal creating a river/pool in our room. After searching for someone to come help us it took a while for them to offer us a room. The supervisor offered us a downgraded room - I refused. Eventually, they moved us next door.
Thanks for your review. We've cruised 4 lines so far with try he following results.
Carnival - if you are 19years old and bellyflop contests are your thing and you're looking for the dirt cheapest cruise on old boat a carnival fits the bill. For us the cruise was composed of primarily teenagers in college age kids who wanted to party all night with loud music. Not really our idea of a family vacation so we moved on. We had a few good experiences with carnival in the past but then we had quite a few bad experiences. They may be much better now, I really don't know we haven't cruised with them for over 10 years.
Royal Caribbean - this Cruise lines seems to be hit or miss it. It feels a niche between carnival and the better Cruise lines. We've had some great vacations on some of the nicer ships and on some of the older ships. We also had a few clunkers. Mostly good experiences with a few really bad ones like you have just experienced.
Holland America - we've been very happy with every Holland America cruise we've taken. It's really hard for us to believe that this Cruise line is owned by the same company that owns carnival as a difference is night and day.
Princess Cruise Lines - we're on our first Princess Cruise right now and so far it's up there with Holland America. We would certainly book Princess again. Again it's hard for us to believe that this Cruise line is owned by the same company that owns carnival since there's a huge huge difference in the cruising experience.
