Review summary

We got a good price and upgrade within the same class of staterooms when we booked through . Our first cruise turns out to exceed our expectations. Other agents may have offered rebates or on board benefits , but if we come across similar discounts with upgrades for our future trips, it may be worth sticking with .

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We came early before noon and it was very smooth and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Quality of food in the dining room is very good and that in the buffet court is reasonably good. We skip the specialty restaurants for the next trip.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We watched some arts auctions, my wife joined some paper project classes, and I tried karaoke and some trivia session. We enjoyed them.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ship's staged productions are of very high quality, and so are performances of the vocal artists. The bands are great.

Children's Programs

We had no children in our party.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
There is a very high level of customer service provided by practically every level of the crew members of the ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It appeared that the layout and design had been well tried out by previous ships before this ship was built. Common areas are clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It is very comfortable and reasonably sized., and the steward made your bed twice a day. The mirrors behind the bed made the room look bigger and brighter.

Ship tip

Choose your stateroom location when you book a cruise. This is what we did right for this trip.

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
We joined the snorkel and boating tour, had a great time watching colorful fish with the snorkel (they did not teach you how to use it though), and had the bonus of watching whales on the way as it was the right season (Dec and Jan). Booked before we joined the cruise.

Mazatlan, Mexico

3 out of 5
Booked an excursion before we joined the cruise. It was ok as part of the tour took you through some rundown parts of the town, and the markets where local people shop are rather crowded.

Manzanillo, Mexico

3 out of 5
We booked on board the cruise for a city excursion. Lots of driving through narrow winding pebble streets. One bright spot, the resting area for drinks (included) and snacks (not) is a very scenic, airy restaurant with live entertainment. Made the day!

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

4 out of 5
Booked before the cruise. Appeared to be the most crowded port of the four, but also most modern with good scenic tourist spots.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Well organized and smooth.

Glad you enjoyed your first cruise! Hope someone warned you that cruising Princess can be habit forming!😂 Our suggestion is to use a Princess Vacation planner. They will assist you with everything related to your cruise and can offer perks not available to travel agents. They are Princess employees and not a subcontractor!
