Review summary

Overall I will not travel with Princess or at least with the Grand Princess again maybe a newer boat but I was super disappointed with my experience with them. This is my 6+ cruise and will do any of the other lines before thinking of princess.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Dining, where to start the main dining room food was so-so, must of the time not good at all. The buffet was pretty much always the same thing and not good either.

Crown Grill

5 out of 5

Food and service were awesome, to the point I made another reservation after the first dinner there.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
No much to do in the old boat, the movie screen outside was good.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Nothing special but ok to past the time.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
It was good but nothing to be wow about

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Hate that is not stairs in the middle of the boat, making very hard to wait for elevators if you were close to the middle of the ship. Super run down and had rust in a lot of places.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The cabin is too small even though I book a balcony # 522 and my friend and inside cabin #507 was way bigger I have been in other cruise lines and the cabins are bigger and better decorated than this. The bathroom super small.

Ship tip

Don't go on this ship.

This is Mania’s experience...a few comments...I have cruised on the Grand many times...and have cruised Celebrity, HAL, Royal Caribbean and Carnival...the Buffet is the Buffet...outside of a few places in Las Vegas buffets are ok...the offering varies from day to day...I have found the MDR offerings to be acceptable...but if nothing on the menu sings to me I dine at the international cafe, Alfredo’s or Trident grill...unless you have a major suite ($$$)...the only large room you will find n a cruise ship are cabin scenes in “The Love Boat” television show...the size of the room is given in the cabin description...most cabins between 160-200 sq ft and while on a cruise I view my cabin as a place to sleep shower and change...the only times I did not have a small bathroom on any ship with any cruise line was when I took a suite...and to be honest I only took a suite when it was a fantastic deal...I’m not rich enough to regularly spend that much money on a cruise...it is always a good idea ( and a way to build excitement)if you look at the layout of your ship...there is a midship stairway that goes through the ship...not referring to the atrium stairway...the regular stair way faces the midship service elevators...as I mentioned...my experience with the Grand is different from Mania’s...not saying either position is right...it was right for each of us
