Review summary

If this had been my first cruise, I would never cruise again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarking was easy from the San Francisco pier

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Buffet food was cold by the time found a table and sat down. Also very salty. If I waited for wait staff for drinks (water or tea) I could easily be done before order taken. Self served my own drinks almost every meal.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Evening shows were good, however the same toilet jokes did not get better when retold.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
First day out of port and the waiter in dining room was rude and unhelpful. He was bad enough my travel company would not return to dining room for any meal. Had to ask room steward for either bath towel or wash cloths on four separate days. Room was straightened up, but linens not replaced.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Room was fine. There was not a door peep hole cover, I put a tissue in the hole to keep hallway light at night out of the room. Had to ask four different days for bath towels or wash cloths. On a ten day cruise, that is a failing grade.

Ship tip

Look over deck plan beforehand. Princess only had a blurry photocopy of deck plan to hand out.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

4 out of 5

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
Easy walk to town open air market. Locals were shopping there and they had a great selection of fresh meals, fresh meats, spices, and trinkets. Rained, but it was warm. Some folks complained but the rain, but it was December, rain is expected, so get on with the day.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

2 out of 5
Stayed just in the pier area. The local "fleas" were numerous, loud, and pushy at hawking their items or taxi.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Only had a small suitcase total with me and walked off easily.

I agree completely with markcross and romantikcruiser! I take care of things immediately if there is a problem, but they have to be significant. If I had an issue with my waiter then I would request a different table not eat in the buffet every night to avoid the issues. Who ever msnyxo is if they truly have a 111 day cruise coming up I wish them luck!

romantikcruiser, well said, I'm already booked for my third Grand, my girlfriends sixth Grand, Alaska in June, already looking forward to my beef Wellington, escargot, eggs Benedict, and Salmon steaks, happy hours, Matt said he'll still be cruise director on that journey, for me it's impossible to have a bad vacation😎HAPPY CRUISING

Mark. You forget that there are those who live to find fault. Complaining for 111 days might be just the ticket...for shy humble moi...my time and$$$ are far too precious for me to search for a problem...if one searches hard enough one can find trouble in paradise. If a problem is glaring then I resolve it. Unless the ship is sinking I can find something on board to make me happy. And I’m a grumpy old man. I’ve just cruised enough to see and avoid those who choose to live in misery

You have 111 day world cruise comming up, boy I hope you take more than a carry on, and if you get a less than par cabin steward and cold food or have to get yourself a drink, your going to be miserable for another 110 days😂

I love Princess especially the Grand, if it was so bad, why would you take another Princess

I agree, address the issues immediately and get on with your vacation. We had wonderful wait staff in both the MDR and the buffet. It certainly didn’t bother me if I got our own drinks in the buffet. If I wanted to be waited on I would go to the MDR or one of the specialty restaurants. Our towels were changed at least once a day but twice a day if required. If we asked our room steward for something one day it was there everyday. We were treated very well when we were on the Grand.

Yes, we had our towels changed almost daily and our steward was always attentive to our needs. Maybe just having the start of your trip made it more difficult to enjoy it as a whole? The dinning staff was alot great, some not s helpful to other individuals but ours were. View from peep whole was like avens bed was not in view. Sorry you didn't enjoy your vacation, maybe next time

Mmmm. Never had any of these experiences on any Princess cruises. Towels were changed daily and every cabin door we had was out of the line of sight of the bed hence no need to cover peep hole. Loads of entertainment so no need to go to the same show. Rude staff? Report it immediately and it will be dealt with......don't waste your vacation by documenting what you feel was wrong and deal with it at the time!!! Nit picking big time or a troll.
