We went through Zoe's Travel Agency. Wish we'd been told about the Land and cruise option, I think this would have given us a better vacation. I would love to see Denali and Mckinley
Embarkation

Good food most of the time.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Usually something going on, sometimes it's trivia or bingo or a spa demo. Not interested in stuff like that. The evening shows in the Princess theatre are really good but there's always people standing that didn't have seats.
Entertainment

Service and Staff

The staff that I came in contact with were very helpful the buffet staff were't that friendly but when I was there, it was always very crowded. It was understandable if they were busy. Our room steward was wonderful.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The Grand is a small ship, we didn't have any problem learning the layout. I loved the signs on the elevators and outside the elevators.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Bed was comfortable, however the hump in the middle was very uncomfortable. They had to change our carpet while we were at port and we needed to be out of our cabin by 8:30AM, which was OK since we had an excursion. The cabin smelled of new carpet the next few days. I have asthma, not great the first night. No, I didn't complain to the steward, I hadn't thought about the smell or my asthma when we Oked them changing the carpet.
Ship tip
Bring an extension cord. We were constantly trying to move things around to use the ones in the room.
I've done 3 cruises to Alaska. One was the tour/cruise option. Flew to Fairbanks, Midnight Sun train to Denali. Overnight there & tour to the mountain. On to Anchorage overnight, then by train to the ship! Wonderful trip. I highly recommend it.
Understand that the land sea options are one way trips...normally leaving out of Vancouver or Seward...the experience is great...but you will face two one way plane fares...unless you book another cruise back then you only have one round trip plane ride
