Alaska Cruise

Sail Date: July 11, 2015

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

We chose a partial view stateroom that actually had good view over the lifeboat. Design of boat being symmetrical can be somewhat confusing which end you are at. Food was adequate, service at restaurants was great. Pastries unless the special of the night at the restaurant, not the buffet, were only adequate. The special dessert of the night was always good though and the special entree of the night. More help is needed at the customer service desk as lines tended to be long. Also resolving issues sometimes took talking with 3 employees.

Food and Dining
Main restaurant service was good. Buffet desserts not exceptional and food not always hot. Service at buffet also good. Hamburgers not, but pizza delightful in the special cafes.
Service and Staff

Room steward exceptional, but room service staff confused.
Male singer was fabulous.
Onboard Activities
Raffles and giveaways seemed complicated or not worth the effort
Destinations and Excursions
We used our own excursions as the fees were greater using the cruise's ones.
Ship Quality
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Very smooth. Embarkation was early and allowed us to have lunch then walk around town and return. Disembarkation very very smooth though brochure might state as earliest time not disembarkation time.
Cabin / Stateroom
Clean but bed should be replaced. It had a dip and was quite uncomfortable.
Whittier (Anchorage), Alaska
Cruise Hubbard Glacier
Wow our captain did such a great job of getting up and close.
Cruise Glacier Bay
Wow again our captain did such a great job of getting up and close.
Skagway, Alaska
Park Ranger tour of the city is very informative. Yukon tour not impressive except for nice scenery.
Juneau, Alaska Foggy so didn't do the tram but used shuttle to get to the glacier.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Take the public bus to the Totem Bight park and walk to the Totem Heritage center.
Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia Pancake and breakfast places just around the corner.

Entertainment in the theatre arrive early but always good.
