Overall, Freedom is a solid ship with a great staff. If you are sailing with kids, ask the children's staff about their programming up-front, because they do not seem to offer information.

If you want a nice quiet place to relax at night or to watch the ship docking in port early in the morning, there is a little wedge shaped area between the fitness center and the adult pool area, there's one on both sides of the ship, with a few lounge chairs that not many people seem to go to.

Stay on a lower deck. We were on 2 and the get on and get off process was simple. Never had to use an elevator unless we were going to eat or take part in an event. This was huge as elevators are crowded.

For your first time, if you're really not a beach person, just take one of the taxi island tours that are waiting outside of the port. It'll take you around between 2-3 hours. If you're looking to hang out at the beach, the tours are usually around 5 hours.
