If you go during normal vacation times (spring break, xmas, thanksgiving, mid-winter break) and the ship is full, just be sure to get to everything early so you can get good spots (at the pool, shows, activities, even at private island). I don't see this being an issue during non peak times.

Decide what you want to do early and bring a high liter to mark in the cruise compass. It is worth it to get up a little early and do the breakfast in the main dining room

We had an aft cabin - Freedom 8712. I was really nervous about it...we LOVED having the lounge chairs and the beautiful view. If you have the chance do it - and don't worry about the superstructure. Sure it is there, but we didn't even notice it after awhile. Just be aware that everyone on aft balconies can see everyone because of the design.

Learn how to get to the helipad! I loved going there for sail-aways and sunsets, and the one night we had low winds and clear skies it was amazing to go out there and see all the stars on display. Just be aware that if you go to the helipad at night, you MUST NOT use your phone's camera flash or flashlight; doing that will get a security staffer down there faster than you can blink, and they will close off the helipad for the rest of the night.

Freedom of the Seas is the perfect mid size ship. Plenty to do without feeling too crowded. Service was excellent, best cruise ever!
