Review summary

Overall, we enjoyed our cruise. We loved our room. We wished there were more things for adults to do during the day.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We are gold level crown and anchor members. After security, we walked straight up to a worker, finalized the last details and walked right onto the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good. The portions are smaller than in the past. We had the soda package. I liked that you didn’t have to sign every time you got a soda at a bar or restaurant. Smeother cruiselines make you sign.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
For the most part, my daughter enjoyed the kids club, but not as much as she enjoyed Carnival’s.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. I feel like the ship had a good flow.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was our second time in cabin 1864. It is a “larger panoramic ocean view”. The view from this room cannot be beat! We also loved having all of the floor space.

Ship tip

Spend some time outside on deck 4.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5

Basseterre, St. Kitts

3 out of 5
The taxi/tour people when we were getting off of the ship were a little too aggressive. The people with monkeys were aggressive as well.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
We felt safe in St Maarten.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
We were only there for a brief time, so we just walked around and went to Walgreens.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Beautiful day. RCCL really should do something about the overly aggressive vendors in the craft/market area going to Columbus Cove. Their aggressiveness is over the top.

Disembarkation

We did self assist departure. We started walking off the ship at 7:30am. We got to the door of the terminal and stopped. The line was backed up and zigzagged throughout the room. It took well over an hour to get to a customs person. As my husband said, these people do this multiple times a week. It should have been quicker and smoother.

Was in the Freedom in March and loved it. We were on once before years ago so nice to see some upgrades. Loved are balcony cabin as it made the room look so much bigger. Only problem the dang shower head kept turning to the back of the wall forcing me to hold it. We did self walk off and was off, through customs and in our car by 7:45.
