Happy experience by FengZ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall experience is very happy and satisfied. However, something has to be improved, eg: dead flies in salad, flies flying in a restaurant, poor actress in the shows (ugly "snowwhite" in the show), too much salt in soups, unable to play table tennis due to outdoor wind, poor pingpong balls and bats (We need to have an indoor pingpong room!!!).

relaxing time by JonG1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first cruise. What struck me right away on freedom of the seas is the quality of service. Every staff member is always happy to help you and you never feel like they are hard to find. They always have a smile on their faces. The stateroom felt much bigger than the square footage would lead you to believe. A typical room in a house is bigger, but the utilization of all space in the stateroom was brilliant. No part is left to chance or underutilized. There is space for everything you want to bring, and the room allows you to put it out of sight. All of the food was very good in both the buffet and formal dining. I loved all the ports of call and found the entire experience great. My only small complait was the occasional loud noise during dinner in the dining room. One night a woman with a megaphone came in with twenty kids all dressed like pirates. They all were yelling for about fifteen minutes. Not the right time and place for a couple trying to have a relaxing and romantic dinner. We still ate in the dining room every evening and overall were very happy.

Freedom of the Seas by KellyH5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Beautiful ship but not worth $2000 more than Carnival cruise price. We have had just as good a time on various Carnival ships and not spent nearly the price. The shows were great but still not worth the extra. We also encountered more RUDE passengers than on all other vacations combined. Not quite sure why but it very much interferred with our vacation and has questioned whether it was the people or Royal Caribbean's lack of ability to control the people.

Great Ship, Food not so great! by Tim11365374

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The layout and features of the ship were great. I have been on many cruises, and this was by far the biggest, nicest ship I have sailed on. Our first night in the dining room with our waiter (edgar) was terrible. We waitied 45 minutes to get a glass of tea. We spoke with the head waiter, and asked him not to talk to the waited as we did not want him to know, thinking maybe it was the first night and things would get better. The head waited assured us he would not say anything, and at the end of the evening, the waiter made a bunch of excuses about his assistant, and it was obvious the head waiter spoke with him. We changed to another dining room and got Ramon Jason as our waiter, and it was a great experience. Our room was always clean and we never once saw the cabin steward. The food was just OK. Alot of the deserts were sugar free and thus made them taste free. Getting on and off the ship was so easy. The staff in the Bar area On Air, Bilijana was super, she waited on us every night, and took care of all our needs. The flowrider was neat. The shows were of good quality, especially the magic show. Overall it was a great experience. We liked it so much we re-booked for JUNE 2010 on Liberty.

We Loved It! by Scott224996676

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had a wonderful time. This was our first experience with Royal Carribean, and it was very impressive. The food was amazing, the staff was all friendly, and the Freedom of the Seas was beautiful. We had an interior room that overlooked the Promenade and we were very impressed with the size and layout. We were not expecting to be wowed by an interior room, but it was very nice. Our only complaint with the entire trip was that the boat seemed a bit crowded. Our cruise was the first week in June, so maybe it was just a busy time, but there were a lot of people on board. It didn't hamper anything, we always found chairs by the pool and never waited too long for anything, it just seemed a bit crowded. We noticed the tables in the dining room were very close, sometimes it was hard to walk between the chairs if leaving dinner before another table, and the chairs around the pool area were very close together. You got to know your neighbor well, as most the chairs were taken and there was very little room between them. All in all though, it was not a big deal and I would not hesitate to go on Freedom of the Seas again. We did not have the kids with us, but there seemed to be tons for kids to do onboard, rock climbing, kids clubs, arcade, ice skating, etc. There was a good mix of people- some families, some older couples, a lot of honeymooners- so there was always someone new around to meet. Overall, it was a womderful cruise, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to have a good time!

The Freedom met all our expectations. Pool was a little crowded but there are plenty of deck chairs on the next level. Art and decor was very impressive. Never felt too crowded.

AMAZING CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by AngelaT3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our second time around on this ship, and we think it is far THE BEST one we have gone to out of 4 other cruise ships and companies. The entertainment and variety of activities that they offer is unbeatable. The accommodations are luxurious, the food is amazing, and they give you a lot of options for dining. We didn't care to go to restaurant for dinner every night, we enjoyed the Promenade Cafe and Sorrento's Pizza as much as the dining room at any time we wanted. And Windjammer and Jade offer great food as well. Even thought the dinig room is GORGEOUS, and the service is GREAT!!!The kids program is fantastic, our little son didn't want to go to the Islands with us, instead he wanted to stay in the ship and have fun at Adventure Ocean, which tells us how much fun he was having. The best part for us was the ENTERTAINMENT. The Ice Shows are INCREDIBLE, and all the evening shows and activities as well!!!! We felt pampered from day one until the day it was over. Well recommended cruise ship!!

Great Cruise by KateC3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was clean, well maintained, the rooms were comfy with good beds. The entertainment was first rate and the food was excellent. I have only two complaints. 1) the saving of pool chairs by the ship's personnel after forbidding guests the same privilege. If concierge suite guests wish to save a seat, fine, let them call and reserve one but do not save a whole section of chairs which they don't use and let other guests wander around looking for someplace to sit. 2) the shore excursions in Georgetown were disorganized to the extreme. We lost more than 1/2 hour on our excursion to 7 mile beach because the guides didn't know what they were doing.

A good cruise by KristinaL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was a big ship and confusing at first. We weren't given the layout of the ship and how to get around, we got lost and frusterated in trying to find our stateroom and where to go through the ship and all. This was our first time cruising.

Waited on Hand and Foot by AliciaD1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This cruise was incredible! This was our first cruise so we didn't have much to compare it to but we talked with a couple who had been on 40+ cruises with Royal Caribbean alone (they started out with Princess, Dolphin and Carnival and once they tried Royal Caribbean they never went back to any other cruise line...I can see why).

This was our 2nd time on this ship and we are planning for #3. This ship has every thing you could want or need to have a great time. The Entertainment was excellent and cruise Director the Best. Our waiters Khantee, Ernes and Head Waiter Daniel were Outstanding. Thanks Again for helping us celebrate our 50th Wedding Aniversary.

Mother's Day Cruise by LindaC17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Royal Caribbean never disappoints! I have never cruised with any other line because I am afraid it won't meet R.C.'s standards and was so glad - again! The Freedom of the Seas is absolutely huge and gorgeous, with something for everyone. This cruise I included some of my adult children who had never been before and they were "wowed" the whole week.

disappointed by TheresaH3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our Cozumel stop was cancelled due to the Swine Flu scare. While we appreciated not stopping there, we heard that several other ship stayed an extra night at a certain port or chose a new port to stop at (Key West) on their way back. One person told me they whole tripe was diverted to the Virgin Islands. Labadee wasn't very good and neither was Ocho Rio. The only good stop was the Camens and we didn't stay there long enough since our StingRay Beach trip took up almost all our time. We thought it would have been nice to stay there one more night and day since we couldn't go to Cozumel. Also, the 11 dollar credit was almost a slap in the face since we spent alot more than than being on the boat for another day. I would not go back to the Western Caribbean after this experience. We loved the MC and all the activities and performances on the boat, but left thinking we would not come back to Royal Caribbean because of the poor effort in finding an alternative stop and hearing of all the other cruise ship's efforts to accommadate their guests.
