FOS was great. Food was good. Drinks were good. Staff was very friendly. We had a balcony room. It was bigger then expected. The rooms were always kept clean. Sorrento Pizza has great pizza.

Just the vacation we needed! by dorenetaqi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was a relaxing vacation. I'm glad I researched the ports and knew what we wanted to do in each. The beaches we saw were varied and each was beautiful. The ship was in good condition. The shows were good. Don't miss the parade mid-trip. Food in the main dining room was better than the buffet. Staff was very professional and friendly. Good value for the money spent.

Beautiful ship, bad service by sterrana71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Service was poor on this ship. We decided to come back to Royal Caribbean from Carnival and that was a big mistake. Employees acted like they didn't care and didn't want to be there. The windjammer was always so packed you couldn't find anywhere to sit to eat. They nickel and dime you for everything. On Carnival there are many places to choose from to eat that is included but with Royal there is the buffet, main dining room and a pizza place. I wanted to order coffee to my stateroom after coming back on board from a port and was told it was $7.95 to have room service deliver coffee after 11am. Any room service menu items were $7.95 to deliver. There were a few exceptions in service...Charmalito, the bartender just outside the casino was fantastic. Cory, the casino server was by far the best on the ship. Daniel, the assistant waiter in the main dining room was excellent. But overall it wasn't worth what we paid for the cruise. Royal Caribbean has become so cheap. We will all be going back to Carnival where there service is way above Royal Caribbean.

RC is slipping! by TBeeson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

You can’t beat the Southern Caribbean for natural beauty. Just to have a “ride” to visit these special gems would make this cruise worthwhile. If you’ve never cruised, you will probably love this ship. If you’ve sailed Oasis or Quantum (I haven’t yet), you’ll probably be disappointed. RC gets high marks for staff and service, all the way up to the Captain. The corporate aspect gets low marks for grossly overselling everything.. overpriced drinks, art, watches, food upgrades, even ship tours.. and poor food quality/dining options. The kids all agreed that Golden Corral has much better quality (though they don’t serve lobster or lamb;).

Very nice. Why must I enter 50 positions? If I select N/A then it says I must rate it but it doesn't let me select a rate. Then to submit I am forced to login when you know who I am because you have emailed me every day! Stop sending these surveys if you don't have them working correctly!

Fantastic!! by Paula5245

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We really enjoyed our cruise! We typically cruise once a year (sometimes twice) generally in September or October. We've been on Freedom 3 times now and generally is a great ship but showing some age. The bar service at the pool is lacking somewhat as well. We sailed Harmony of the Seas last year and love it! Will plan to do that again for sure. Overall we love RCI and don't sail with anyone else.

Eastern Caribbean Cruise by gmb1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

5 port calls and only 1 day at sea. St. Kitts and St. Lucia are great stops. Antigua and Barbados were somewhat disappointing. Embarkation and Disembarkation were both quick and stress free.

MY FIRST ROYAL CRUISE by MaritaSantos

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We were deviated for security reasons because Isaac Storm. This is fine with us, because it had to do with our security. Instead of being two days at sea, we were three. I think that the Royal Caribbean line should offer something more than return the port taxes by $8.86. I think that they could make an offer such as one or two hours of free drinks, or dinner on one of the specialized restaurants, or a discount without closing date for an upcoming cruise, etc.

Lots of add-ons by tonycamil

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Captain canceled St Maarten port due to weather. There were many families with young kids which is not an issue, just made the ship more crowded. It seems like that if you really want a great experience you need to look at adding the upgrade packages for dining and drinks. Then at that price point consider your options.

Spanish Invasion Cruise by lsyden232

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Ordered dozen roses thru RC only got 11, Ordered wine and cheese platter never got glasses to drink the wine. Both were to come with a note from me but never came. Had to go to the front desk to get wine and cheese delivered. The ship was set up for Spanish speaking passengers, also the entertainment was geared to them.

Wonderful Caribbean Cruise itinerary by joanoh286

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Love the deck plan for Freedom Of The Seas and other ships in that class. Great itinerary. Food very good overall. Always look forward to omelets for breakfast on Lido deck and the cold fruit soups in dining room for dinner. The omelets were very poorly done. Had one the first day then didn't order again. Cold fruit soup only on menu one night. Our wonderful waiter had one made for us each night after we voiced our concern. agent, Holley Ayers was fantastic, Second time booking with her.
