A cruise to remember ! by PhilP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

A disappointment after all the hype prior to the trip and the perpetual self promotion by the ship's staff. The bigger is better concept is lost in the logistical operational details.

A FANTASTIC CRUISE by MonicaF

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The multicolor lights in the Royal Promenade captured me when I first walked in. From the wait staff and stateroom attendants to the cruise director, the people working on the ship were very friendly and courteous. There was always something going on around you. From the 24 hour bakeries and pools to the casino and planned activities I was never bored. Even though I wasn't in a suite I still felt like royalty.

Wow! The most fantastic week I have ever spent. The cruise director, captain of the ship and all personnel are great. There is something to do every minute of each day. The ship is new, clean and wonderful.

Cruise vacation of a lifetime! by MyriamB1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was stunningly beautiful in every detail, from the colorful sculptures of the H2O zone, the Solarium adult pool, the inside marble staircases, glass elevators providing beautiful views of the Promenade, to the opulent main dining rooms. The shows were Broadway quality and the ice skating show was superb. The service was personal and friendly even though the ship carries 4500 guests. It had something for everyone, and there was not enough time in 7 days to do everything, although it was non-stop fun.

An Awesome Cruise!!! by Gray

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We just got home from sailing on the Freedom of the Seas and it was a wonderful, very clean ship. The staff was very helpful and always had a smile and a greeting whenever we saw them. The food on the ship was great. There was always something for everyone. We also loved that there was an area called the H2O zone (water park area w/ tons of chairs for adults to sunbathe and supervise) and it kept the children busy. The production shows were fabulous especially the ice show. We enjoyed the activities on board and were busy the whole time. There was always something to do. The live music aboard the ship was fabulous and there was such a wide variety. We would recommend this ship to anyone and may even go on it again!

beautiful ship by JodyG99746831

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very nice. There was a lot to do and yet we liked the smaller ships better. We found the ship was harder to get around and could not find our way often. There we alot more children, but this ship is one for them. There was more than enough things for children to do. We did like the bigger room, over looking the shopping area. The staff was excellent and service was as well.

Disappointing Cruise on RCCL Freedom by HazelK2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

While the ship was beautiful and there was so much to do and see, I was very disappointed in the food, some of the service and the crowds. I have sailed with RCCL on at least 10 different occasions, but I would not go on a ship this large again. The food was not very good either in the dining room or at the Windjammer (although the pastries and dessers were wonderful.) I found that the crew was too overworked to give the kind of service I am used to on RCCL. The lines were incredibly long at times (for elevators, for food, for golf, for the rock climbing and for the flowrider.) On one at sea day, the pool in the solarium was so crowded, my husband and I couldn't even get in to it. Not to mention trying to get a lounge chair poolside.

The biggest ship in the world by KayW2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I have cruised with Royal Caribbean in the past and have always been pleased and bragged about the cruise line and the ship (we love the voyager class ships). We were excited to spend our 20th anniversary aboard the largest ship in the world. We found the ship to be beautiful and packed with things to do, but it was difficult to do them because there were so many people. We stood in line a lot. If you were not at the Windjammer early for breakfast it was difficult to get a table, same for a pool chair on days at sea, seats in the theater for shows, and so on. Our dinning table (and I have always loved the dinning room) felt very cramped and was not much on romantic ambiance. We found the Windjammer in the evenings to be a much better atmosphere and peaceful. It felt as if the ship was just big enough to add staterooms for the additional 1,000 people but not much space was added to the ammenities (dining room, theater, ice rink, elevators etc.) to accomodate the additional people on board.

Fantastic Cruise! by JohnS88

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was one of the best vacations my wife and I have ever had. Everything was fantastic. You felt like King the whole week, totally pampered and taken care of. All the activities were top notch, and there was stuff to do all day and all night. The food was excellent and was very plentiful. Snacks were available 24x7. The pool and hottubs were relaxing and enjoyable. You were never bored from the moment you woke up until the moment you fell asleep. I recommend a room with a balcony so you can relax to the ocean sounds at night.

Not the Best by JosephY2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was just an OK trip. Compared to others we have been on at Royal Caribbean it seems that service and food is not as good as in the past. The food in the main dinning room, table 306, was just mediocre. For example, the salmon was often over cooked and dry, the Roast beef looked great, but had no flavor, same for the steak. W hat really bothered us was the smell of sewer every so often for the first couple of days and could really be smelled getting off the ship on the tenders. Also, too many people smoke where ever they want and no one on the ship enforces their policy of "non-smoking" except in desinated areas, which seems to be in practice anywhere anyone wants to light up.
