Review summary

Wonderful time with the family and great ports for us to get to enjoy nice beaches and snorkeling.

Embarkation

Very fast and being we all had our paperwork and luggage tags done prior to arrival we were on the ship in less than 45 minutes. Very fast and lines weren’t too bad to get checked in for all 11.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room was excellent with great choices and service. Windjammer was best for breakfast and lunch.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Did do a few things new this trip like mini golf and pools but mainly relaxing with the kids when onboard. The kids did everything and truly enjoyed it.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Only so many bellyflopped contests and disco nights you can see before they get old. Comedian and singer were great and didn’t get to see shows since most of them were during our dinner time. The entertainment person director seemed nonexistent as compared to other ships and cruises we had sailed on before but what we did see or catch was good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Cannot say enough about the crews on these ships. We had a great time mainly because of our room stewards, bartenders, and waiters in the dining room table. One of our grandchildren injured her ankle during the cruise and her room steward brought her ice packs every night and constantly kept checking on her to make sure she was okay or needed anything.

Ship Quality

Love the bigger ships. Freedom is always clean and well maintained and didn’t see anything out of place. Huge difference in that we didn’t want to leave this ship unlike the disenchantment of the seas were we couldn’t wait to get off it. Sorry bigger boats are better even the few people in our group who have cruise before on other cruise line agree with us on this point. They are RC cruisers now since we did not have a rough sea day and they didn’t get sea sick on this ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

Junior suite room that we have enjoyed before were we had space and storage room for everything. Nice big balcony with two lounge chair and a table with two chairs. Doors and cabinets that stayed shut didn’t swing open with the movement of the ship. Only thing is I hated the shower head it didn’t swivel just sliding up and down. So had face blaster the whole time you’re in the shower. Bed was okay but I was glad to get home to our bed but thinking beds bother me everywhere except home.

Ship tip

Decorate your room door it helps you find your room easier. If traveling with others hang a chalkboard on doors to leave messages where you are at on the ship. We did this and it worked great for our group of 11 and 5 rooms. Our kids had rooms adjoining so they had their balcony opened which gave them more room to enjoy docking and sailing aways.

Love San Juan great place to see and experience before cruise.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Port area is a lot bigger now and less walking. Cab ride to Eagle beach and walk on the best sand beach and clear water. Great place for beach time.

Willemstad, Curacao

We did Blue Bay beach break and its wonderful! Snorkeling is feet from the beach and the fish are incredible to see. Water is clear and you will have to use water shoes since it’s rocky on the bottom. Town is very colorful and great for shopping and eating food.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

Ten stars!! The water here is amazing and clear. We did the snorkeling trip here and was amazing the fish and coral you can see here. They have a nice market area with locals booths selling their homemade goods great place to chat with locals and get some unique gifts for friends and family. Great place wishing we had more time there in port.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Last stop but we had been here before so we just wanted to relax on the beach. Hung out at the Lazy Lizard and enjoyed great food and drinks.

Easy and fast sad the trip was over. Tip use the porters they have own line for customs and get you quicker outside.
