Review summary

Had a lot of fun but thought we would be able to relax more. Hard to find time to relax with 4 kids and a port nearly every day. Especially if you want to get off the ship at each port but still enjoy the amenities offered on the ship.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Simple and quick. Only minor issue was nobody mentioned to stop at table to get mister wrist bands for kids before heading up ramp to board

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Franco Lemos and Elle Hingking in the MDR were a highlight of our trip! So much fun and so good at their job! MDR food was better than expected, but we're don't have any other cruises to compare it to. Escargot was wonderful, calamari was incredible. Lobster tail was delicious, crusted salmon was delicious. Pineapple upside down cake was super dry, baked Alaska wasn't quite what I imagined. Favorite bar was the one on kids side of pool deck, Squeezed maybe? Daniel knew how top make a drink and was very friendly

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Putt Putt golf was fun but in terrible shape. Flow rider was fun but hard to ride much with the limited hours of operation. Arcade was fun for kids but a fast way to throw money away!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Didn't make as many shows as I wanted but others in group did. Mo5aic was phenomenal! Such talented musicians! I think it wad called Once upon a Time was ho-hum for me but my wife and daughter enjoyed it. Heard the ice show was nothing to store home about. Comic was pretty good, comic/magician was really good

Children's Programs

Didn't partake

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Franco and Elle in MDR were the highlight of the staff for sure. Willy did a fine job taking care of our stateroom. Cruise director Katy had a very fun friendly personality and was very approachable when walking around the ship. Most all staff was friendly and had a smile

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The odor in the hallways is real! Once we got in the room, it mostly went away. Wherever we went on the ship, it seemed that somebody was cleaning something and staying busy

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
6 of us and for the limited time we were in the room it was plenty spacious for us. 3 adults and 3 children. Only time we were a little congested is when were were trying to pack. Understandable to have 1 bathroom obviously but that was challenging lol. Few trips to the floor above and we were fine

Ship tip

Enjoy it and relax as best you can. Be nice to the crew! They are doing what they can to make your cruise enjoyable, treat them respectfully and it makes it more enjoyable experience for all involved

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Went from airport to ship

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Only off for a bit in port shops right inside the gate. Friendly people and not to crazy. Guava berry rum punch stand just off to the left when getting off ship was dangerously good! Decent deals on watches and I bit but felt I could have tried to get better deal but backed off

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Beautiful when pulling in to port. RCI excursion to dolphin discovery was a fun time for the whole family. Pictures were expensive, more than I expected after reading reviews previous to excursion. Back to shopping and people were friendly. Little pushy but not too bad

St. John's, Antigua

Darkwood beach was incredible! It was or favorite thing were did off the ship. Caught a taxi from the guys hounding you in town and took about 35-40 minute ride to beach. Water was crystal clear and warm. Beach wasn't crowded. $25usd for an umbrella and 2 loungers. Beautiful area! Taxi driver was there to pick us up on time and was pretty anal about every spec of sand being off of every part of everything.

Castries, St. Lucia

Scenery was probably the best whole pulling to port here. So green and lush! Went to Reduit beach and it was slightly disappointing. Water was clear and a little chilly. Beach was far too busy and crowded for my liking. I understand these locals have to make money and sell their crafts but they never leave you alone and get attitude even you politely tell them no thank you!

Bridgetown, Barbados

4 out of 5
Only went to shop for a few hours. A lot of shops in a small area and got some decent jewelry purchases for my wife. Went back to ship to enjoy ship activities

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Simple, maybe 15 minutes.
