Review summary

Good weather except for the wind. Was windy every day of the cruise. Captain said that is normal for this time of year. Will take that into account next time I plan. Overall, good cruise. CD Patricio and his partner Alex were pretty funny on their morning show. Service was good.

Embarkation

Very easy...checked in within 30 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Specialty dining was great. Main dining room and Windjammer were just ok.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Only used the fitness center -- good, clean, plenty of machines.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Wasn't thrilled with the stage shows or the musicians/DJ at the pool. Ice show was amazing, as always. The movie at the pool one day was Top Gun...from 1986! :0

Children's Programs

No children with us.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone was very helpful and kind.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Design is fine. Some rust showing around here and there, but nothing terrible. Windows were not cleaned in the restaurants and on the balcony.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great cabin, center of the hump. Right at stairs and elevators, Internet Cafe. Very convenient. Clean for most part, some dust under the bed.

Ship tip

Quiet area up front of Solarium on either side, deck 11, enclosed area with chairs. Not many people go in there. Good spot for reading, relaxing, especially on sea days.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico Did not visit port

Got right on the ship from airport.

Willemstad, Curacao

Went to Mambo Bay Beach. Was nice. Water is beautiful. Short cab ride.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Was May 1st, which is Labor Day there. Stores in town were closed. Beaches and beach shops were open though. Cab driver took us to his "friends" spot near the Hyatt on Palm Beach. Guy charged us $50 for an umbrella and two chairs. Should have taken the bus and gone near the Hilton. Hilton has a nice outdoor restaurant called Gilligan's. Took the bus back, much cheaper.

Basseterre, St. Kitts Did not visit port

Choose this day to stay on board while everyone else gets off. So much quieter.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
Did St. John's Beach and Snorkel thru Royal Caribbean. Took the ferry to Cruz Bay, 40 minutes. 90 minutes at the beach went quickly. Very choppy, but it was very windy that day. Trunk Bay is beautiful and always worth the extra effort and $$ to get there. They are still recovering from the hurricane.

Disembarkation

Fine. I always get a porter to help us and they get you through the customs line much faster.

I thought I was picky and a germaphobe but I’ve never checked for dust under the beds.

NEVER go to the cabbie's "friends" bar, restaurant, etc. Generally will cost you more on the long run
