Review summary

Though the dynamics of this holiday were a little different having our mom in tow, we did enjoy the cruise a great deal. I think we need to go just the 2 of us to experience more.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
I had heard horror stories of line ups, nothing could be further from the truth. We showed up about an hour before our scheduled boarding time and walked right up to the checkin counter. After a short wait we were allowed on the ship with those who also were early.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dinning room served fantastic dinners that were well presented, portions were smaller but certainly equivalent to any higher end restaurant. We never visited the buffet for dinners but did see the odd lunch and breakfast. We mostly had breakfasts in the slow paced MDR as it was more comfortable for our nearly 80year old mother

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We were only able to enjoy the rock climbing and a short mini golf game, both were great

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We attended several nightly shows and found it easy to find seats if you arrived early and enjoyed the musicals, comedians and the ice show

Children's Programs

Our age range was 53-78

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had very attentive service from Rimmie and Aries in the MDR, they made our dinners special in all ways. Ireoval the greeter in the Windjammer had such a great character that he made you day each time you saw him, everyone needs to be that dialed in first thing in the morning. Junior or room steward was a peach of a man and worked around our mom who wanted to sit and read frequently. He went above and beyond to see that we had everything we needed.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Once you got used to using the maps found everywhere on the ship, navigating the decks was pretty simple. It seemed that everything was quite clean

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
For our family of 3 our cabin was a little tight but overall we could manage. The room was kept impeccably clean and was made up while we were out The bathroom size was fine for us as we sort of revoled through t use.

Ship tip

Explore all the ship has to offer

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Would like to have had at least a day on each end of our cruise to tour aroun San Juan. From what we saw it was very nice

Willemstad, Curacao

4 out of 5
Fantastic building colors, typical touristy shops in port.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
Though windy this was a neat place to visit. We took a cab to Eagle Beach and enjoyed the better part of the day there.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

4 out of 5
I would have liked to have done a trip to a beach here. We wandered around the areas just outside of the port shops and experienced a little more of the flavor of the island.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
This was another beatiful island. We took a cab to Megans beach and spent sveral hours there swiming and some snorkling.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Enjoyed a lovley breakfast and waited for our time slot. Experienced some lines coming off the ship. Best tip I can give is once in the terminal, find a porter, they will whisk you through the large line to a much smaller one and it will only cost you a tip (ours was $10, and so worth the reduction of wait time for mom)
