Review summary

I was on this shop 2 years ago and the experience was a lot better. Seems RC is more worried about building mega ships and losing focus on their customers.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
It started off with my wife and I having to visit the Guest Services Desk where we had to wait to get new seas pass cards. The cards that were issued to us just minutes ago did not work properly when going through the security checkpoint. Not that big of a deal...things happen and the wait wasn’t super long. But, the process did take about 15 minutes. I would have preferred to get a cocktail by the pool.

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The main dining room experience was below average. The food wasn’t as good compared to previous cruises. The chicken was dry and the meat was tough. Even the bread was over cooked. Sometimes the waiter would forget to bring requested entrees..Shrimp cocktail didn’t have enough cocktail sauce...salads didn’t have enough dressing...pasta appeared to be sitting around under warming lamps...all requests to bring extra sauces took a long time. We ordered several drinks during dinner...drinks took a long time to be served. By the time drinks were served, dinner was half way over. We even offered to go to the nearest bar as that would have been quicker. Breakfast was a nightmare. The first morning, we slept in and arrived at the windjammer at 9:30. It was very crowded. Couldn’t find a table...lines were unorganized and long. I waiting’s 10 minutes in one line only to not get a plate as they ran out. The eggs we cold and runny, bacon was like eating shoe leather. The next morning, we woke up early to eat in the main dining room. The eggs Benedict was terrible and cold. Went up to the buffet line only to get runny eggs and tough bacon. In 2016 we cruised on the same ship. The windjammer opened late night for those who wanted a midnight snack. Not this time...the only thing to eat is pizza. The pizza is good but the line was extremely long every night. One night we were forced to order room service which come with a charge. I feel RC is purposely sacrificing the main dining room quality to force their guests in to paying for the specialty restaurant...which we did twice.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Activities were decent...although, we went to the Exotic Tie Tying class which never took place. We also went the the Mojito making class. We arrived 5 minutes late (completely our fault) only to be rudely told by the bartender that we were late and the class will not happen (his exact words). I was with 5 people wanting to learn and nobody else was there for the class. The bartender could have easily conducted the class but he chose not to.

You’re definitely allowed your own opinion, mine is jut different . That’s what makes the world go around. I feel their customer service is the best out there, but I’m sorry you experienced otherwise. Cheers.
