An amazing cruise by DianeF6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our third cruise and our second with Royal Caribbean. The dining room staff in particular is wonderful. We are kosher diners and they go out of their way to accommodate our needs. The entertainment and activities were very nice and the ports were fun to visit. However my only complaint is that there is too much smoking on board. We enjoy Latin dancing and the Aquarium Bar was like siting in a gas chamber and took away from our enjoyment. It should be separated, non smoking and smoking areas.

Explorer of the Seas 11/23/07 - 12/02/07 by BetyanneD

Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Everything about this is ship is top notch. Promenade is its own city - Cafe Promanade serves 'Seattle's Best' coffee 24 hours a day and serves cookies that are absolutely delicious - glad I did not have to pick the best.

Fantastic cruise! by SandyB7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

What a gorgeous ship. Hard to believe that a ship could have so many amenities and still float. It's like a vacation paradise all in one place that floats. This was my first cruise and my husband's second cruise. I would strongly recommend it to anyone.

Our First Cruising Adventure by NancyJ1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

This was our first cruise and we had no idea how to proceed or what to expect. I called and one of their service staff helped me through the registration process in a very professional manner. My hats off to and their expertly trained staff!! Within 10 days we received our packet of information about our cruise, luggage tickets and itinerary and I felt like we were all set to go! We were signed up for Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas trip to Bermuda and Boston. There was difficulty signing in when we arrived at Cape Liberty because the ship was late coming back from a cruise to the Caribbean due to Hurricane Noel. Our boarding was delayed by approximately five hours and we were all hearded into a waiting area that was loud and unpleasant to sit in. HOWEVER, Royal Caribbean did what they could to make this more pleasant by bringing in pizza and sandwiches, so we felt somewhat better. Our spirits lifted immediately when we finally boarded the ship, and we saw how beautiful and well appointed it was. Our interior room exceeded my expectations and was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We were almost immediately greated by our cabin steward who stated that he wanted to make our stay a pleasant one. I thought that was a very nice touch. Indeed, he did seem to be available whenever we needed anything and was very pleasant to deal with. We went to dinner immediately, where we met the very efficient waiters of Royal Caribbean. They are very well trained and polite, and make an effort to learn your name and what your dining preferences are. We especially liked our Romanian waiter -- he was simply the greatest!! As for the ship, we especially enjoyed the upper decks, with the hot tubs, pools and lookout areas.

Vacation of a Lifetime! by YvonneD70931424

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our first cruise experience, and I would definately recommend this type of travel. The service of the wait staff was exceptional, and the activities onboard are for everyone if they wish to participate. It was a great vacation, one of the most relaxing we've had in years.

Treated like Royalty! by KathrynW2

Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

RC's Explorer of the Seas is a beautiful ship with many fun and unusual activites. The attitude of the crew is second to none. RC is very well organized and really does make you feel special even though there may be 3,000 other passengers.

Don't miss this ship! by PaulE

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

We went back to Bermuda on Royal Caribbean after a disappointing trip there on Norweigan. This time we took a larger ship which cannot go into Hamilton but must dock at the Royal Naval Dockyard. This was not a problem at all. Had a nice taxi ride into Hamilton seeing the counryside and and $4 ferry ride back. Some great sites at the Dockyards that we had not seen on previous visits. This ship was superb in all areas. Unbelieveably stable. I felt zero motion until the seas got very choppy on the return and then it felt like a normal cruise. If you are prone to motion sickness then this is the ship for you.

Cruising is addicting! by BethM4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

It was a beautiful ship with many uniuqe features. The Promenade is a quaint little downtown neighborhood. The ship features an ice skating rink, including an amazing ice show. It is also the only cruise ship on the sea with two science labs and two scientists on board, conducting tours and lectures on ocean and air quality studies! Overall, the entertainment on this ship was superior.

the promenade and cafe were the best part of the cruise. we sat in the cafe a lot and it just like you were in paris. we did not even feel like we were on a ship. the food choices at dinner was not as good as some other cruises but acceptable. the ice show was one of the best ....even better than the ones on tv.

Worth The Trip! by Chris18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The ship was kept neat and clean. They recarpeted all the cabins while we were on board, and it really didn't inconvenience us. The crew was polite. There were a ton of activities we enjoyed, and for all ages. It seemed more appropriate for older kids (if any) though there were activities for younger ones. They cleaned the pools frequently which was good from a prevention stand point. They encouraged everyone to clean there hands with sanitizer before they ate (they provided the soap at the entrance).

Great time on the cruise by Aro43229741

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

My husband and I went to Bermuda on this ship for five days and we had a great time. We deliberately chose Sept. so that the ship would not be so crowded but we were surprised that the ship was still full even though school was in session. Nevertheless, not too many school children around. Food was good enough in the Main Dining Room so we didn't bother to try the specialty restaurants. There were many activities to keep us busy. We tried the golf simulator and had a good time even though the machine did not register many of our hits. I thought the Ice Spectacular was the best show of all. The Promenade Cafe is opened 24 hours but I thought it should have ice teas and juices available besides coffees and teas. Stateroom services and dining room services were excellent. There is room to improve on the taste of that soft ice cream at the pools deck. Cheap flavors.

The Exployer is an average voyager class ship. It is beginning to show wear and there were obvious sewage problems during our cruise.

Awesome cruise! by ShirleyD1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The Explorer of the Seas was absolutely beautiful, lots of lounges and activities. Loved the Johnny Rockets diner, so much fun! We went back to the Schooner Lounge to hear Steve Green on the piano 3 nites! He is so talented! Our stateroom w/balcony was larger than others we've been on and I liked the shower doors! I also really like the glass elevators!!!! I appreciated the nicer quality linens and bedding!

Nightmare beginning but a great cruise by Lindaj1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

the ship left without us. we were at the ship by 4:15 PM and they refused to allow us to board the ship. we immediately called BJ's vacations and an agent told me there is nothing they can do. I called royalcarribean and they did nothing. I later learned that royal carribean could have called the ship to advise them we were waiting to board but they did not. After sitting at port for an hour and watching the ship depart, we then had to fly to Bermuda to meet the ship. They made us wait 1 hour to board the ship in Bermuda because their manifest did not have our names on it. The cruise was wonderful after that.
