Review summary

It was a beautiful ship with many uniuqe features. The Promenade is a quaint little downtown neighborhood. The ship features an ice skating rink, including an amazing ice show. It is also the only cruise ship on the sea with two science labs and two scientists on board, conducting tours and lectures on ocean and air quality studies! Overall, the entertainment on this ship was superior.

Ports of call

Portland, Maine

The tour of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's childhood home was very informative. Henry VIII is a great little English sandwich shop with roast beef as soft as butter!
Don't Miss: The Victoria Mansion is remarkable!

New London, Connecticut

The steam train ride was disappointingly short, and the crew was not prepared for us.

Boston, Massachusetts

I loved all the colonial architecture! Food was mediocre. Shops were pricey.
Don't Miss: The Trolley Tour is a blast, if you get our colorful guide!

Saint John, New Brunswick

The bus tour was only mildly interesting.
Don't Miss: The most interesting site was the preserved militia tower overlooking the city, equipped as it might have been years ago.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

My husband enjoyed the museum with the display about the great Halifax Explosion. My favorite was the Public Garden, which was beautiful, held the strangest large goose-type creature, and hid a restored white building with scones and coffee ( plus other baked goods and ice cream)!
Don't Miss: The Public Garden

Bar Harbor, Maine

Pretty view from Cadillac Mountain in the Fall. Shop prices were very reasonable. Downtown reminded us of Martha's Vineyard.
Don't Miss: The Nature Hike in Acadia National Park, complete with interesting Naturalist!

Pros: The professional entertainers in the evening were exceptional! From an original rock and roll group from the 60s to a TV comedian, the entertainers kept us either clapping, or laughing so hard we were in tears!

Cons: I felt that a lot of the crew's dancing and costumes were unneccessarily inappropriate.
