I enjoyed my Alaskan Cruise. I normally cruise warmer climate, but wanted a change. It was truly and enjoyable cruise. I truly enjoyed the cooler temperature of Alaska and Victoria, Canada.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining room was great, we ate then twice. We ate the majority of our meal at the Windjammer.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We play the majority of the trivia game and won one game and was given a key chain. We played miniature golf one the day it was not cold and rainy. Basically it was too cold for us to enjoy the pools, rock climbing. Overall, we enjoyed the casino and all the activities that were provided onboard.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The comedy show and magician was lackluster could have done without attending. The musicians were awesome.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My niece enjoyed the team center and could not wait to participate in the activities each day.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward, Puto, was awesome.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
All common areas were clean and well-maintained, but at times some individual do not have home training when it came to the ladies room. But the staff did their best to maintain the cleanliness of the ladies restroom. The ship's layout was surprising small too me but I guess given I only sailed on the Allure of the Sea, the Explore was presentable.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Overall the cabin was comfortable for it size. Puto kept our cabin spotless.
Ship tip
If they are looking for an adventure into this history of Alaska explore sailing to Alaska on the Explorer of the Sea.
The port was okay, it was a 20-30 minute walk to town. Our bus picked us up for our excursion at the port. We when to the Mendenhall Glaciers it was awesome. There was a shuttle service that charged a fee for transportation back to the port, we paid the fee. But after our excursion and enjoyment in Juneau, we waited on the shuttle to transport us back to the port and the driver said we did not have to paid for transportation back to the ship, it was free. Not sure, but it may have been a scam.
It was warm in the 3rd week of July. We heard that there are 3 days every year when they all miss not having AC. We found them! The Glacier areas were cool.
