Review summary

This cruise was an opportunity for my Hubby to enjoy the warmth and for us to recharge our batteries after the hectic holidays.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We appreciate the job that security does to keep us all safe. Once we got through that the rest was very smooth and quick!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Service and food in the main dining room was excellent. We especially enjoyed dining in the Tamarind again. Service, choices, and presentation is impeccable! We highly recommend this one! The servers in the Lido have room for improvement, but the food there was fair. The staff, other than those serving the food, is great!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I attended two computer classes, and learned a few tips on photo editing I didn't know. The instructor was a bit canned, but thorough and stayed on point. The America's Test Kitchen classes were great, as always. Several were standing room only, making it impossible to see the demo.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The comedians were great. The Eurodam three vocalists and six dancers gave one of the absolutely best shows we’ve seen done by the crew. Their precise, expertly-choreographed routine, accompanied by extremely talented singers, was better than the best “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Voice” combined. The music in the Billboard Lounge and Lincoln Center Stage was also excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our cabin stewards were wonderful. One of the reasons we stay with HAL is because of the excellent staff!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was our second time on the Eurodam and thankfully it didn't seem nearly as large as last time. The layout is good, the cleanliness is excellent and much appreciated.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was comfortable, however, it is smaller than other veranda cabins we've enjoyed. The larger tv is nice, but a bit awkward to watch from the sofa. My hubby sat at the end of the bed to be able to view it, which made it awkward for me to move around that area.

Ship tip

Enjoy every moment.

Ports of call

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
We didn't do an excursion since we lived here for many years. It was interesting to see how much the downtown area has grown.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
We didn't do an excursion this time. We've been to the port MANY times in the last 40 years.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
We didn't do an excursion this time. Though we have enjoyed several here on past cruises.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

4 out of 5
We didn't do an excursion here this time. We've been to PV MANY times over the last 35 years. Though we do highly recommend swimming with the dolphins, doing the zipline, an excursion to Yelapa, and seeing the highlights.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation was MUCH smoother than our previous experiences in this port.
