Review summary

We arrived at the peak of embarkation, but despite the crowd, the staff moved folks along quickly, and we were boarding soon after arrival. The ship's crew is friendly, attentive, competent, and some are talented! 30% of our crew were filipinos, and a group of them staged a show for guests of traditional dances and songs. So unique. Food was delicious, healthy and varied, served by the crew rather than buffet style, so hopefully there is less food waste than another cruise line I was on recently where guests served ourselves. There wasn't as much onboard activity, and I wished they had more fitness classes, like an abs workout, but we were busy with our group anyway. The live entertainment was adequate with the best plush theater seats, and we loved that there's free movies on TV, unlike another cruise line I've been on, where there were none. We were traveling with a teen but didn't use the children's programs. The Eurodam is a nicely appointed ship, with real orchid plants and elevators on the side of the ship so that you can view the ocean going up and down decks. The shops were understated and not in your face, like the other cruise line. There are two pools, and one can be completely covered, so it was cozy on cold days cruising glaciers. We had 3 in an ocean view cabin, and it din't feel tight. There is a full bath tub in the bathroom, and that made it feel spacious, unlike the shower on the other cruise line. Our cabin steward worked hard cleaning and turning down our beds each night. We were on the Main deck, deck 1, mid-ship, and it felt more stable than upper decks on sea days, though it can be loud from the engine. Overall, I would recommend the Eurodam.

Very cozy and classy. We came here to play card games with newly made friends, watched a special performance for our tour group, and enjoyed whale watching. Nice place to chill.

Lido Bar

Great cozy spot to view the landscape during meals or ping pong games, glaciers and wildlife on cold days cruising Glacier Bay. Alaskan beers are excellent; highly recommend a try.

Lido Market

Can be stressful trying to find a table, but we almost always did. The serving crew is energetic, friendly, and some performed in the Filipino Show. A talented bunch. Food is delicious, healthy, and casual eating with excellent views.

Guest Services / Excursions

We booked shore excursions for Juneau and Ketchikan through the ship, and they were expensive but practically the only sure game in town. It's nice knowing that the ship will wait for guests on these excursions if they're running late, and we were one time.

On the day that we cruised Glacier Bay, they brought park rangers on board to narrate the scenery and pointed out bears, otters, and other wildlife and history of the land. There were two short educational programs on the history of the park and Native people from the area. The rangers brought pelts for people to feel the differences between animals, too.
