Overall a good cruise, just don't expect perfection.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Loading was quick and easy, but waiting for rooms/bags to be ready was slow.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Everything was good, except being moved tables without any notice at all, we happened to see the change in our app before dinner service. If we had gone to our original table it would have been very awkward.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Lots of trivia, some good, most weren't to our interest (not the cruises fault). My issue with activities was the only adult only section of the ship had kids in it all the time with no staff enforcing the rule.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
I loved every performance I saw, only complaint was sound quality in a few parts and some performances either didn't happen or were quite delayed from their scheduled start time.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service in general was great, but when we tried to get answers about our table being changed without notice we were blown off and pushed around to other people.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The roof leaked in several places, some public area toilets didn't want to flush.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Everything felt cramped. Our shower didn't drain day one, so our floor ended up wet. They fixed the shower, but didn't do anything about the floor. A drawer was also broken on day one. Nothing dried out, swimsuits hung up to dry stayed wet for days. We aren't sure if that was a ventilation issue or something else.
Ship tip
Be prepared for kids in the adult only area, it's the only place to get pizza and late night snacks.
Loved the breweries, especially Rip T'yd. Amazing watermelon beer. But the port itself was overcrowded, filled with people in your face about transportation options.
I'd give 4.5 stars instead of 5 if possible. We weren't prepared to find no changing rooms and the bathrooms were too cramped to change into our suits. Tip: just wear your suit to start.
There was nothing really there unless you paid for an excursion of some sort. The beach had trash everywhere with no trash cans to take care of anything. But the water was beautiful.
I was pleasantly surprised. So much to see and do, lots of history if that's your thing. My only upset was the ghost tour didn't start until after our ship was set to depart. Wish the ship left later, or the tour offered a day tour, even in the daytime I love this kind of thing.
Just like embarkation it was quick and easy. They asked our preference though for time and completely ignored it. Asked for the latest and received the earliest. (Didn't expect to get the time we asked for, but to receive the complete opposite bothers me)
I appreciate your review calling attention to both the good and not-so-good of one of RCCL's older ships. RCCL needs to invest more in their smaller ships.
