Review summary

We enjoyed everything about this cruise. The only negative that I would mention is the volume of the live music on the pool deck. I like the sound turned up but it is too extreme. You cannot talk to the person next to you when the live bank is playing. Other than that this was a great cruise!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We purchased The Key for this cruise because we got it for a good price. This allowed us to have priority boarding. We were on the ship by 10:30 AM; maybe 15 minutes earlier than if we didn’t have The Key. Check in was a breeze; didn’t look at test results or Bermuda TA.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We did not utilize the MDR but ate all of ours meals in the Windjammer or Park Cafe. The food was good but not outstanding. The Windjammer had the same offerings every night. The desserts were better than when we last cruised.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was always something going on however we enjoy just relaxing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ship’s singers and dancers were fantastic even though we saw the same shows earlier in the year. We enjoyed the comedian, the juggler, and the gymnast however we had also seen them before. Still quite entertaining.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the staff on this ship are friendly and engaging. We met some new friends and caught up some old ones. Our room steward kept our room clean and spiffy without being obtrusive. The staff in the Windjammer was great! Good to see Robert the sheriff again!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We have sailed on this ship and the Grandeur so we are aware of the age of the ship and the outdated furnishings however this is probably what we like most. I noticed that cleaning and maintenance has picked up since our last cruise. There was always someone wiping down the handrails and glass. Most of the rust has been painted; ship is looking pretty good.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We really like the spacious ocean view and were lucky to get it. Plenty of storage space and a great floor to ceiling window. Plenty of room to move around.

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Perfect Day is always just that! Wonderful pool, beaches and food. Crispy chicken sandwich is outstanding! Desserts were better than on the ship!

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Not a big fan of Nassau but we did the day pass at the British Hilton and enjoyed that. The motel is closed down but the beach is available along with loungers and umbrellas. There were only twenty people there when we went.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Nice area to walk around; numerous things to do.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Bermuda is a beautiful island. We did a mini bus tour of the whole island and got to see most of the highlights and beaches. This was our fourth time there so we are getting to know Bermuda pretty well. Beaches are beautiful.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was a breeze! Just showed our passports and whisked right through.
