We love cruising and RC, but EOTS needs lotsa love.. we will not be cruising a ship this small again.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
It just seems that at this point, embarkation could be more organized and stream lined. After cruising in November out of Fort Lauderdale (which was wonderful and easy) I was surprised at how unprepared the Port of Baltimore appeared.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The food was not that great. It was surprising that they could not serve hot food. Everything seemed under-seasoned and not as good as I am used to on Royal Caribbean. It was very surprising.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Maybe they were understaffed, maybe they were overwhelmed, but it seems as if the crew was not prepared for the number of people that would be on the boat, and therefore could not prepare proper activities.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Our teen's like the Teen Club Advisor Svitlana...but said they were often bored as there were not a lot of activities for them.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The staff was amazing as always. Our Room Steward (Albert) exceeded our expectations. Our MDR team (Ricardo and Jose) went above and beyond each evening. Michael and Anika on the Bar Staff never left my cup empty! We did have an issue with the Next Cruise team (they made us wait an hour for our appointment, only to tell us that they couldn't see us, it was very weird) but everyone else was great.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
It's an older ship, the crew did what they could, but it really needs some TLC.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Cabin was ok. It served its purpose of providing a place to sleep and shower.
Ship tip
Keep your expectations low (especially if you are used to the Oasis Class ships) and choose to have a great time.
The construction going on and people trying to haggle money out of you was a little overwhelming..made it difficult to enjoy the port... I'm sure once everything is completed, it will be very nice.
Cruise out of Baltimore was great, lines were acceptably long, given all the documents needed. Bermudas docs and fees are a cumbersome money grab. (but, no one is making you go, so accept their rules, just wish I knew before booking) But, once there the people, beaches, transportation were beautiful experience.
Ps. Yes the ship it self is showing its age. Prob wouldn't have been a problem if I hadn't been on the Oasis a couple months ago.
It's unfortunate that this cruise didn't meet your expectations. I've cruised out of Baltimore multiple times. They've always been organized. If embarkation seemed out of sorts or crowded I'm more inclined to believe people didn't follow instructions or adhere to their assigned boarding times. I'm heading further north next year and trying Oasis. I like the smaller vessels, but they are limited in what they offer.
