Review summary

Would have liked to spend more time at Coco Cay. When Royal ramps up to more production shows and newer ship in Baltimore will be better. Overall great value and getaway post Covid-19.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy & quick with timed arrivals

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We had late traditional dining and our service was slow most days. Had to go to show before dinner or skip dessert to make 9:30 pm show.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Spa did not have free steam sauna available- under renovation? Massage was nice and relaxing while overpriced. Ship shows trampoline on map but it was never opened. Climbing wall was good as usual for Royal Caribbean.

Bungee Trampolines

Never open

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Top notch entertainment. Comedy duo, acapella group ( the alley cats), comedian, and 1 production show- can’t stop the rock. Rockport great dance band. Excellent DJ on ship and at Coco Cay. Corporate hasn’t trained entertainment on more shows. A waste of excellent singers and dancers to have only 1 show on 8 day cruise. Pianist were very versatile and entertaining.

Library

2 out of 5

Enchantment library was poor. Maybe 30 books and no quiet area or tables.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward was excellent as usual. We had two as we had to switch for noise issues. Our dining room service was slow- this may have been a kitchen issue. We dined for 2 hours- table of 8.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship shows her age in wear and tear. Kept clean but could see that maintenance is not able to keep up with oceans corrosive power.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Small cabin as expected- only for sleeping and changing clothes. 3669 was the noisy cabin- like a bowling alley at random times in the night. They switched us after second night.

Ship tip

Bring plenty of books. Skimpy library.

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

1 out of 5
Nothing to see at port without excursion. Our home port so we have seen Baltimore sights.

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Space center is the awesome.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
Wish we could go there longer or for 2-3 days. All inclusive with Diamond vouchers for drinks very nice. Plenty of snorkeling on our own at chill beach without purchasing excursion ( brought our own gear. Construction going on so excited to see what they add. Food was very good and easy to access from pool or beach. Hammocks very relaxing. Pool party with DJ lots of fun

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Not worth getting off boat. Aggressive locals offering hair braids etc. Plenty of shopping but not much else unless you purchase a resort pass from a resort near port.

Charleston, South Carolina

5 out of 5
Easy to walk on your own and see highlights. Sunday visit meant churches were in full swing. Historic homes, street market, parks and grave yards with plenty of historic markers for context.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy & quick

Newer ships won’t fit under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. For the time being the only RCCL option is Vision class ships. Hopefully these grand old ladies of the sea will be getting some needed TLC. Thanks for sharing your cruise!
