Embarkation
1 out of 5
Absolutely the worst we have had in 80 cruises. We were not allowed to check in as a family. After checking our doccuments 4 times by 4 different people, our group was split up. Took more than 2 hours to board.
Wanted to give zero stars.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining was adequate, presentation non-existant, but flavor good. Service..outstanding.
Chops only worth our BOGO benefit.
Chef's table great, however seems to have same menu fleetwide.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Only participated in trivia. Group of Pinnacles that have been on the ship since it was christened made it impossible to win...how many key chains do you need?
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The cast on board were unable to perform due to illness. Two main vocalists did a show on their own that was entertaining. There was a good variety of guest entertainers and were worth seeing.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All staff were outstanding, with the exception of guest services. We were missing an OBC from share holder services. We had all the correct doccuments and confirmations, had to get travel agent involved, and 6 days later it was resolved.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship needs updating,... paint, fabrics, fixtures etc. I think she is tired after 20 some years of service.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Nice aft facing Jr. Suite. Tub overflowed into bathroom, but was repaired after second day
Ship tip
Be prepared for long check-in. Ship needs updating, but crew made up for this. Not as many activities as newer ships, but relaxing.
Thanks for the review we heard some bad comments on Baltimore port not getting their act together. But seems after all you guys had a nice relax time 😎
Wow, embarkation disaster! So sorry for your problem, not fair to have that happen to start your families vacation.
We were on the cruise just before, now there was just two of us but from entering the parking lot to getting on ship only took us 30 min. However, disembarkation was a sit and waite as they were late collecting the luggage the night before and were behind getting the luggage off the ship. We were a tad bit late getting back into Baltimore because of delay getting out of Charleston do to the bow port side thruster sucking in a rope that was floating in the water as we were pulling away from the dock. The ship was stuck for almost 4 hours in SC. Finally a Tug was used to help to get the ship out to open sea, at that point the Captain put the pedal to the metal and made up almost all that lost time.
My husband did have a few meals in the dinning room that were not great and ended up ordering something different after just a few bits. Otherwise the food was good, after several cheese burger lunches in the buffet we were happy. And nothing beats those cheese rolls for which our assistant waiter Leena made sure we had two fresh warm rolls each every night in the dinning room from night two on.
As usual the staff and crew were top notch, very friendly, attentive and quick to help.
We did the cruise long scavenger hunt which was a blast, it required us to have to talk to and get to know the crew on the ship. Our team took second place... It was so much fun!
