Review summary

The ship and what the ship offered was very good, the STAFF WAS OUTSTANDING!!! I have no problem recommending the cruise experience in itself but the company policy is clearly get the bucks. The WiFi was exorbitant even the ability to just txt people in your own party or other passengers you met and wanted to do things together with was pricey, that in the least should have been free or included or a method of communication to each other and fellow passengers provided in the APP?

Embarkation

Totally slow because of total redundancy. We had submitted everything pre-check electronically as requested by Royal/ Litterally all we had to show was an ID and proof of a negative COVID test but no we had to go through the entire submission process all over again, checking each document to verify its existence?

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent really!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This was Royals oldest fleet of ships, many amenities could have been updated and some of the venues too. We realize room is limited as compared to it's newest ships but things could be added or replaced with newer things.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows were all excellent, most musicians were very good but I've seen better. Some MC's esp one leading the trivia events had a very hard time with ENGLISH!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Well trained and clearly enjoyed their jobs and were very attentive and personable and genuinely interested you enjoyed yourself and took personal interest too.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was easy to get around mostly cause it's the smallest model, was very clean and over all well maintained. The furniture especially in the Rear Theater was old and dated and needing not repairs but replacement.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Comfortable size and very very clean and serviced several times a day. Beds were HARD!

Ship tip

Make sure they don't switch you ports of call between booking and departing

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

1 out of 5
Baltimore is a good place to leave from and arrive but NOT to visit.

Port Canaveral, Florida

It's a nice Floridian city but if I had wanted to go to Florida I would have grabbed a cheap flight. I had a friend who had just bought a townhouse and was there finishing prepping it and that made the stop worth it.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

You can't just walk off the boat and tour the city, you had to take and excursion to go anywhere. There is no information available about transportation and destination options other that expensive excursions so we just stayed about the ship.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

Our original destination this was Bait to this Switch was Nassau. This was a company owned Island and attraction we NEVER would have chosen to go to. ANY AMENITY was rape price expensive. It is clearly designed to SUCK MONEY out of your pocket. This island could litterally been in the middle of Chesapeake Bay just with better weather and cleaner water. Why does this island exist? to SUCK MONEY FROM YOU!

Charleston, South Carolina

Ho Hum, who cares? Were Notheners the history of the South during the Civel War is a Descrace not something attractive. But at least you could walk off the ship and tour the local shops and see actual local people LIKE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO AT NASSAU but not at Coco Kay

Disembarkation
