Review summary

Relaxing and convenient but ship showing age.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation for us was super easy because we were there early. Reports from those an hour after us were indicating a long line and slow process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
So they clearly had supply issues for this cruise. Talking to the staff they said supply chain and the fact that the cruise had more people than they expected at this point (there were approximately 1300 on the cruise from what a staff person told me). Pina Coladas were not available after day 1 and the back half of the cruise had a new item each day that was not available

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff were very friendly. Follow through on things definitely declined throughout the cruise.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
We were on this ship when it originally launched in 1997 and it is a good design for a smaller ship. We happened to see it in St. Maarten when we were on Millennium in June 2021 and it was waiting its restart. When I saw it I was concerned they might send it to the great beyond. When they restarted it, I heard that they had done at least some level of refurb- but that seems to not have been true. A good amount of rust on the ship and corrosion on fixtures in the stateroom. Toilet went down one morning due to a leaking pipe somewhere on the ship. Another afternoon (sea day) we lost all water in the cabin without any notice because they were doing additional maintenance. In general, internal common areas indoors seemed fine.

Cabin / Stateroom

Best aspect of the room is the size of the balcony, but they need to put a lounge chair on it not just chairs. You get diesel smell sometimes in the room and definitely steal odor from Chops in the evening. Pole by the bed is a pain. Corrosion on fixtures in room.

Ship tip

Be prepared that this ship is showing its age.
