Review summary

We expected a smaller ship with less activities so not a problem for us. The staff is stellar. Food is okay.

Embarkation

Fast and efficient. No real issues.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
There was a lot of food. Never went hungry! The pastries/desserts were probably our least favorite of all of the offerings. After all every former cruiser we know told us how fabulous the food was, we were a tiny bit disappointed in the average quality of many of the entrees. Some were good, some were ok. But nothing bad, and the service made up for it.

Windjammer Cafe

3 out of 5

Normal steam tables fare. Nothing so tasty that I could rave. A bit disappointing in the desserts and pastries as they were so-so and dry. The servers, especially the ice cream servers, were stellar.

Ben and Jerry/Latte-Tudes

5 out of 5

Had the refreshment package which was so worth it as we got “the good stuff” a couple of times a day. Delicious and great friendly service.

My Fair Lady Dining Room

5 out of 5

Our head waiter Noemi was so welcoming and made sure to remember our names and how much we enjoyed the cheese plate and apple pie so she insured we had both every night. Assistant Waiter Iyoman made sure we had our decaf coffee each night. Both servers were the highlight of our trip.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The weather made the rock wall and trampoline impossible to use which is understandable in the high winds. Cruise director Bobby was awesomely upbeat. The best thing about the activities were those run by Tom- so entertaining and hilarious. We watched Karaoke and Bingo and some trivia, the flag ceremony was lovely. We knew going in that it was a ship with not much to do so we relaxed a lot.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The headliner show was amazing, a Lionel Richie tribute. All the house bands were very good. Yes, the stage show Can’t Stop The Rock was outdated and needs an overhaul but the performers were excellent. The male lead singer is wonderful. Comedy show was decent- come to the show with the right attitude and have fun.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was not the most engaging lady. Maybe cruises have changed, but silly as it sounds, we were sad we only got one towel animal prepared and had to keep using the same scummy bar of soap the whole trip. She did do a great job cleaning. Overall the staff from top to bottom was welcoming all the time. The best thing about the ship.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Easy to get around the ship and find things. Common bathrooms were not very clean/overflowing trash at peak times. Won’t comment on the ship’s rust and dirty windows as everyone else has already.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Beds were a tad hard but ok. Very livable space.

Ship tip

Voom package well worth it. Stayed in touch with family back home. Refreshment Package worth it for the quality coffee. Just relax and de stress!
