Review summary

Would not cruise on this ship again, although great bargain...you get what you pay for. This cruise reminded me of cruising with Carnival and I feel they are a step below Royal Carribean.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Did not know what terminal to go to in Miami, no signs anywhere for traffic as to what ship. Made to wait in waiting room after checking in for half an hour. Apparently were not ready for guests at 1:00. Our boarding time was 12:30. We waited to get aboard from 12:15 when we arrived to 1:45.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate at both, food was good...but service was slow! At the specialty restaurant we paid extra for, our appetizer seafood tower came after our meal was over. We hardly wanted it at that point. Our seating time for dinner was 8:30 and never got out earlier than 10:30.

Pool Bar

2 out of 5

Bartender didn't care about quality of drink. First told me he was out of the mixer to make my drink (first day on board) then he just poured the puree straight from the carton and added a shot on top. It wasn't even cold, no ice or anything!

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Rock climbing wall was not very tall or challenging. The trampoline was lame, the kids could only jump up and down. Unlike anyother trampoline of the same, where they can do flips. Arcade had only a few machines. Bingo was only one game for $300...after collecting most likely a couple thousand in sales. To sum it up....the highlight of our trip was a belly flop contest!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The comedian on board was excellent! Both for family and the adult show!

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
They didn't even want to attend.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward was a joy! Jimson made towel animals the kids just loved!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very basic and not too big, easy to learn layout.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice balcony and plenty of storage. Great room steward, always kept nice and clean!

Ship tip

Don't bring your kids. This is a nice ship for older travelers.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
Needed more signs and direction. Couldn't find our way in on first go around or leaving. We had to circle both times and ask questions of street cops.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Atlantis was a great day get away for kids to enjoy water park. Ship only has two small pools for them, no slides or flo-rider.

Cococay (Cruise Line's Private Island)

5 out of 5
Kids enjoyed island's water obstacle course, anthough sharks were seen circling around and they were told to ignore them. Lots of bars and good food selections.

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
Just walked around town and shopped and had a few drinks.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Long wait in lines, although waited to leave late thinking we would avoid this. Took elevator with all our suitcases to correct floor to stand in long line, only to have to drag them down flights of stairs to disembark ship.

Agreed. Carnival is a step down from RC.
